Florida 2025 Rankings Update
April 28, 2022
Thanks to its richness in talent, the state of Florida routinely sets the standard for what to expect from each high school class, even on a national level. Though still very young, this 2025 group is already making an impact at the varsity level, and the premium talent is unmistakable. Once again the Sunshine State looks poised to deliver.
Today we will update our Florida 2025 rankings for the second time ever and the list will be made up of our top 50 players in the state. Take a look.
The top 5 of this class has remained the same since our inaugural release. Shortstops Carter Smith and Jacob Kendall remain in the 1 and 2 spots. The two have made immediate impacts on Varsity and have proven their top 2 spot. Carter Smith is a two-way who has been in the low 90’s already from the right side and is a highly sought after uncommitted player. Jacob Kendall looks completely different then what he was at the 2020 Jr Future Games; bigger, stronger, and the hit tool has continued to get even better.
3 through 5 remain a trio of athletic outfielders who swing it well from the left side. Dean Moss at 3, Michael Torres at 4, and Noah Franco at 5. Moss has an extremely high ceiling with power potential that continues to develop. Torres is one of the best athletes in the class. 6.6 runner, moves well defensively, and has one of the better bats in the class. Torres has also been up into the high 80s with his fastball. Noah Franco is 6-foot-3, 180 pounds with a big time ceiling. Mid to upper 80’s on the mound and really knows how to pitch. Franco also swings it well from the left side and uses his long frame to create leverage and drive the ball.
Outside of the top 5, a trio of players have been making noise this spring in their first year of Varsity and moved up in these rankings. No. 8 is catcher Mitchell “Mookie” Rodriguez. The Florida State commit is one of the more advanced hitters in the class. Left-handed hitter, uses the whole field, shows ability to launch on contact, and stays timed up and on barrel. The defense behind the plate is already there and getting better. High ceiling for Rodriguez.
No. 9 is Florida commit 3B Nicolas Partridge. Partridge has a tall lean frame. Creates leverage from the left side with power potential to the pull side. Only 5-foot-11, 156 pound right now, but the hit and power tool will only continue to get better as he fills out and get stronger. Lots of upside to Partridge’s game.
Rounding out the top 10 and making the biggest jump this spring has been RHP Michael Cascino. Cascino recently committed to Tennessee and has one of the more cleaner arms in the class. Up to 87 with the fastball. Arm is quick and loose, and has feel to spin the breaking ball. Cascino impresses most with his knowledge of how to pitch. Attacks hitters and gets strikes and outs consistently. Velo jumps will continue to come as he matures and gets stronger. One of the highest upside arms in the class.
