By: Zac Bottoms

The Fall Prospect League has talent from several classes, yesterday we reviewed unsigned seniors that have stood out. Today we look at a few 2018 graduates that are having a solid fall.

Matt Aiken, INF, Woodlawn HS
Aiken is 5-foot-9 145-pound infielder with an athletic frame and thin build. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid footwork and a quick exchange. He throws with a short arm action, accurately across the infield with carry. Offensively he starts from a tall stance he uses a slight leg lift as his load. He attacks the baseball with a compact line drive swing. He uses fast bat speed to hit balls to all fields. Overall Aiken is an advanced player that will benefit from adding strength as he matures.

Blake Burney, OF, Catholic HS
Burney 5-foot-7 150-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and build. He uses a compact swing with solid extension as an offensive player. He has been a solid part of the Rockets line up. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid footwork, a normal exchange and a short arm action. He throws the baseball accurately from the outfield. Overall Burney is a solid player with the ability to fins barrel consistently.

Gabriel Hensley, OF Jacksonville HS

Alex Langley CIF/RHP, River View HS
Langley is a 6-foot-3 190-pound CIF/RHP with a large frame and an athletic build He has been a dominant force for team PBR Select. He has shown the ability to drive balls in the pull side gap and has shut opponents down on the mound. As a hitter he starts from an athletic stance with a slight load and stride. He attacks the baseball with fast bat speed and an uphill swing. He maintains balance throughout contact. On the mound he has pitched efficiently in the strike zone working 81-83 mph with slight sink. He has shown the ability to locate his curveball for strikes thrown 71-73 mph. He repeats his delivery on a consistent basis throwing from an H ¾ arm slot with a quick arm. He could refine some timing issues and should throw harder more consistently.
