This past weekend the annual FCSAA Sophomore All-Star Game and Showcase occurred in Lakeland, FL at Joker Marchant Stadium. This event is for sophomores only, many of which are still uncommitted. The Southern Conference and Panhandle Conference played each other and participated in a showcase on Saturday, October 27. The following day, Sunday, October 28, The Mid Florida Conference and Suncoast Conference did the same.

Yesteday, we began by taking a look at the standout Sophomore performers from the Southern Conference

Today, we rollout the standout performers from the Panhandle Conference (minus Chipola and Gulf Coast State). A number of prospects made impressive appearances especially on the mound. Pensacola State RHPs Chad Bryant and DJ Wilkinson (Troy commit) reached 96 and 94, repsectively. Northwest Florida State trotted out a pair of their own RHPs in Thomas Farr (South Carolina commit) and Conor Angel. Farr ran his fastball up to 96 and Angel wokred 93-94. Tallahassee CC also got in on the party as well as RHP Logan Lacey topped out at 95 mph.

On the other side of the ball was a loaded group of position players. Northwest Florida State outfielders Jake Randa (Mississippi State commit) and KC Simonich both swung it well from the left-side and look to be impact bats. As always, Pensacola State SS Luke Coker continued to show his competitive edge and barrel control, in additon to C Josh Rulli swinging a powerful bat.

Continue reading to see reports and videos on the aforementioned prospects and more.

PENSACOLA STATE

Luke Coker, MIF, Pensacola State (SO)
6-foot-1, 160-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder, lanky, athletic frame, quick-twitch. Continues to be a difficult batter to deal with, battles at the plate. Does a good job staying balanced throughout, middle line drive approach. Collected two single in four at-bats, one stolen base, one run scored and one RBI.

NORTHWEST FLORIDA STATE

Kyle Fitzgerald, OF, Northwest Florida State (SO)
6-foot, 200-pound right-handed outfielder, strong, physical frame, has put on a significant amount of muscle since high school (nearly 25 pounds), translates in-game. Power approach at the plate, barrel path works uphill with natural lift, whips through the zone, gets good extension on pitches in the lower half. Collected one hit in four at-bats, makes hard contact, some swing and miss.

TALLAHASSEE CC

Logan Lacey, INF/RHP, Tallahassee CC (SO)
5-foot-10, 190-pound right-handed two-way prospect, athletically-built. Athleticism shows in delivery, arm works loosely, there is effort. Fastball sat 92-95, up from first look earlier this month where he sat 88-91. Slider, tight sweeping action, 77-81. Changeup, fade action, 85 mph.
