Strong and athletic, the ball jumps off Logan Lacey's bat. The right handed hitter finished last spring with ten home runs, a statistic he's certainly capable of topping this spring after belting one 389' with an exit velocity of 102 mph during Sunday's series finale. The center fielder is long through the hitting zone with some sweep. He made consistent hard contact to the middle of the field and his pull side all weekend long. The fourth-year junior finished the weekend 5-for-12 with a double, homer and five RBI hitting out of the two-hole.
2020 DRAFT: The Tallahassee native Logan Lacey had a strong, two-way career at Tallahassee Community College before transferring to Florida State for his junior season. At TCC, the athletic 5-foot-10, 190-pound right-handed two way prospect had a fastball up to 95 at times. Showing an athletic delivery with some effort and a loose arm action. Also showed a tight slider at 77-81 mph and feel for an 85 mph changeup with fade. In his first season with the Seminoles, Lacey had in instant impact with the bat. The junior got off to a blazing start hitting at a .379 clip with a 1.059 OPS in the shortened season. Lacey had 4 multi-hit games and ended the season on a 5-game hitting streak. Defensively, fields position athletically, attacks the ball, arm carries with accuracy, more than enough strength to stick on left-side. Had starts at third base and right-field for the Noles this spring.
10/31/18:5-foot-10, 190-pound right-handed two-way prospect, athletically-built. Athleticism shows in delivery, arm works loosely, there is effort. Fastball sat 92-95, up from first look earlier this month where he sat 88-91. Slider, tight sweeping action, 77-81. Changeup, fade action, 85 mph.
10/9/18:5-foot-9, 190-pound two-way prospect. Middle infielder fields position athletically, attacks the ball defensively, arm carries with accuracy, more than enough strength to stick on left-side. On the mound ran his fastball up to 91, sitting 89-91. Slider at 79-80.
