Class of 2025 Rankings Update

After a busy summer of scouting prospects across the Hoosier State, it is time once again to begin updating our class rankings. Second in line, we have the 2025 class. This has been a busy time for a select group of the junior class as college coaches can now officially contact 2025 prospects after a rule change was made this spring that prohibited coaches from contacting players until August 1st of their junior year. The Top 10 in this update remains unchanged with a bit of shuffling going on towards the top, however we saw plenty of players rise and improve their stock throughout a busy summer of 2023. Notes on the Top 10
CF Brandon Logan (Fort Wayne Snider) continues to hold down the top spot in the class. The ultra-athletic outfielder has improved his offensive profile by adding more lean muscle to his 6-foot, 180 pound frame, which allowed him to have a big sophomore season at the dish. The increased offensive output only adds to his exciting overall profile as Logan is a ball-hawking defender in centerfield, one of the best defensive CF in the country, with a plus run tool. A Vanderbilt recruit, Logan’s athleticism has also allowed him to pick up Power 5 offers on the gridiron.
RHP Blane Metz (Floyd Central) has jumped to number two in this update and is beginning to set himself up as a potential prep draft prospect in the 2025 class. The Indiana recruit offers athleticism within a 6-foot-3, 200 pound frame and his fastball consistently reaches into the low-90s (T 93 mph) to go along with two above-average off-speed offerings. Metz has starter upside with impressive arm speed and a frame that will allow him to continue to trend upwards.
A pair of national-level, uncommitted prospects hold down the 3 & 4 spots in LHP Caden Crowell (Valparaiso) and 1B/OF Mason Braun (New Prairie). Both Braun and Crowell recently re-opened their recruiting processes and both have garnered the attention of Top 25 programs from around the country. A trio of talented right-handed pitchers remain in the Top 10 in Matthew Fisher (Evansville Memorial) at #6, Collin Osenbaugh (Shenandoah) at #8, and Parker Rhodes (Greenfield-Central) at #10. Fisher (video below) looks the part of a future-star with his athletic, 6-foot-3, 185 pound frame & starter’s profile. The Indiana recruit offers some of the best pitch-ability in the class to go along with a free-and-easy delivery and fastball that touches 90 mph. Osenbaugh, a Louisville recruit, has been a staple inside the Top 10 for the past two seasons thanks to an advanced fastball with carry (T 92 mph) and one of the best breaking balls in the class, a late-breaking 74-76 mph pitch with nearly 16” of sweep that spins at 2600+ RPMs. Rhodes is one of my favorite arms in the class and offers a tough-look on hitters. The quick-armed Xavier recruit is an elite mover that pitches from a ¾ arm slot that allows him to create significant arm-side run on his low-90s (T 92 mph) fastball. The wiry, athletic 6-foot-1, 175 pounder also has a borderline-plus slider that he throws in the upper-70s to low-80s, spinning at 2600+ RPMs.
A trio of position players round out a talented Top 10 in SS Mason Barth (Andrean) at #5, OF Cal Gates (Bedford North Lawrence) at #7, and SS JD Stein (Carmel) at #9. Barth is an ultra-physical infielder that can flat-out play the game. A 6.7 runner that stands at 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds, the raw strength within the swing is special and it allows Barth to simplify his movements in the box to create consistent timing (video below). The Notre Dame recruit has advanced arm strength (90 mph INF velo) to go along with fundamental actions on the dirt. Gates, an Indiana recruit, is one of the top pure hitters in the class with bat-to-ball prowess and a silky-smooth left-handed stroke. A 6.8 runner, Gates plays even faster on the diamond due to outstanding instincts and has a chance to stick in CF long-term. Stein is the top defensive shortstop in the class - an undersized gamer that can really defend with a plus arm tool (93 mph INF velo). The Louisville recruit has a top-of-the-lineup offensive profile due to his quick hands, level swing, and 6.68 speed.
Fall Must-See Prospects
Will Jaisle, RHP, Batesville HS
Jaisle is one of the most sought-after arms left on the board in the class. The 6-foot-1, 205 pound right-hander has the ability to spin an electric breaking ball - a mid-to-upper 70s slider with sweep (19.5” of horizontal movement) that can spin at over 3000 RPMs. The slider is one of the best in the class and he compliments it with an upper 80s fastball that has touched 91 mph with cut & ride properties.
Kulig is a physical specimen standing at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds. The right-hander has a high ceiling with an upper-80s (T 90 mph) fastball that should tick up even more as he continues to sync up the delivery. The ball jumps out of the physical right-hander's hand and he offers a gradual, 72-75 mph curveball and a cut-change at 74-76 mph. While Kulig is still an unfinished product at this point, the potential he has is obvious when considering his advanced arm strength and physicality.
Maalik Perkins, OF, Whiteland HS
Maalik is one of the most dynamic uncommitted '25s in the country - and that was loud & clear at this year's Future Games. Perkins' foot-speed (6.33) is an elite tool, changing the game with his ability to go get the baseball in CF, which he could do at the division one level at this very moment. His ability to get to top speed in just a few steps will allow him to be a base stealing threat at a very high level. Perkins is full of quick-twitch fibers that allow his hands to catch up to premier velocity, and he stays within his approach as a hitter - consistently looking to line the ball head-high through the middle of the diamond. Despite the undersized frame, Maalik possesses two already plus tools (run & glove) that will undoubtedly provide immediate impact to whatever school lands this next-level athlete.
Dunn had a massive summer that helped create plenty of buzz with college recruiters. The profile is exciting - a 6-foot-2, 195 pound left-handed hitting infielder with power (99+ EVs). Dunn hit in just about every look I had on him throughout the summer due to a short & simple swing with above-average bat speed. On the dirt, Dunn is a sure-handed defender with just above-average arm strength and should be able to man multiple infield positions at the collegiate level.
Jaxon Sparks, OF/1B/LHP, Fort Wayne Carroll HS
Sparks had a big showing at the PBR Futures Games, sky-rocketing himself into the Top 25 within this update. A 6-foot-1, 200 pounder - Sparks offers strength within a simple, left-handed swing and he has present power to the pull-side of the field. A 6.75 runner - Sparks also offers defensive versatility as both a corner outfielder and first baseman. The two-way prospect also has the ability to hop on the bump and run his fastball up to 87 mph from the left-side with the ability to throw three pitches for strikes.

Tristan Wilson, RHP, North Central HS
6-foot-2, 205 pound righty that has been up to 91 mph with ASR.
Grant Mercer, RHP, Lake Central HS
Projectable build at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds. Long-levered frame, fastball up to 90 mph.
Joshua Flores, RHP, Lake Central HS
Athletic RHP up to 90 mph. Good mover w/ a quick arm.
Joe Washburn, SS, South Bend Saint Joseph HS
Gamer. Left-handed hitting INF w/ bat-to-ball skills. 6.75 runner
Andrew Krupa, OF, Center Grove HS
Ultra-projectable, 6-foot-4, 180 pound LHH OF. 6.77 runner
Trevor Corbett, INF, Noblesville HS
Offers bat-to-ball skills and plenty of arm strength. Consistent in-game hitter.
Kellen English, RHP, Evansville North HS
Frame to dream on at 6-foot-8, 205 pounds. Ball comes out of the hand with ease. FB up to 86 mph with 20+” of IVB. Has made big strides over the past 12 months in his development.
Landon Sarkey, OF/LHP, Hanover Central HS
2-way prospect with quick left-handed swing and a FB up to 86 mph.
Lucas Collins, LHP, Bishop Dwenger HS
Athletic southpaw, good mover. FB up to 87 mph with ASR.
Logan Cotton, RHP, Crown Point HS
Projectable RHP at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds. Feel for the zone w/ FB up to 87 mph.
Athletic OF w/ solid run tool (6.73). Short, simple swing.
