FRESNO, CALIF. - As an open event, this was conducted as a straight traditional showcase, 60 yard run, BP round (with Blast Motion sensors and TrackMan utilized for gathering of various data and metrics), defensive workouts, and pitchers ending the day on the mound throwing 15-20 pitch sessions.

Tyler Patrick, Clovis West (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Physical: 6-2, 195-pounds; Long, muscular build. 7.49 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Drops hands on the way back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a high finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 97 MPH via Trackman. High % of hard hit and sweet spot % (66.7 for both), physical with bat control, a few balls left the yard during the BP round.
Defensively: 2.00-2.14 pop times. C - 78 MPH. Compact and efficient during pop exchange while sitting a bit high during that drill, replaces feet well while displaying body control, accurate strong arm, utilized traditional set-up for pops and one knee while live catching, works under ball cleanly, soft and strong receiver.
Gilbert Acosta, Kerman (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 5-11, 210-pounds; Full, full build. 7.96 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a knee knock leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with one-handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 102 MPH via Trackman. Physical with outstanding bat control and barrel awareness, 100 hard hit %, 90.9 sweet spot %, impactful power potential with the bat speed and consistency of contact.
Defensively: 2.05-2.21 pop times. C - 75 MPH. Traditional set-up for pops, on-line accuracy, quick efficient feet with small movements, exchange is clean and coordinated between hands and feet, some tailing action on throws, displayed both traditional and one-knee set-up while receiving, soft strong paws, can smooth out the pre-pitch movement but understands how to work under the ball.
Jack West, Clovis North (CA), 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/C
Physical: 6-2, 180-pounds; Long, lean build. 7.61 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Extended take back of the hands with an exaggerated leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two handed finish with occasional late one hand release. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 94 MPH via Trackman. Powerful young hitter, long levers though controls barrel well and showed barrel awareness.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while playing low to the ground. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle while using various arm slots. 2.07-2.19 pop times. C - 75 MPH. 3B - 68 MPH. Showed both traditional and one-knee set-up at catcher, worked below ball well when receiving, clean transfer on pops, came out of crouch early, displayed accurate arm.
Nick Shaffer, Del Oro (CA), 2023
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 5-11, 170-pounds; Athletic, lean build. 7.33 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Extended take back of the hands with a toe-tap for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a sweeping swing path with a high finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Heavy sweet spot % (87.5), consistent round with high level of on-plane efficiency, in control of his abilities and cognizant of what his strengths are, contact oriented all field approach.
Defensively: 2.19-2.29 pop times. C - 72 MPH. Traditional set-up for pops with hips a bit deep below his knees, has agility for the position, consistent accuracy on the bag, athletic feet and clean exchange, out of crouch well after BID block, able to sit in MULTIPLE flexible positions while receiving including the Tony Pena style, soft hands, sees ball well, outstanding receiver.
