On Sunday, Feb. 6th, Prep Baseball Report will host the 20th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. This prestigious, invitation-only event features only the top draft prospects in the Prep Baseball Report’s expansive coverage area. Over the last 19 years, the Super 60 has become the most heavily scouted preseason event for potential draft picks. The primary purpose of the Super 60 is to give professional area scouts, cross-checkers and scouting directors a head start to the high school season. The event is for draft-eligible Class of 2022 prospects.

Delivery Notes: Tall athletic build with an up-tempo delivery. High leg lift with good separation of the glove and hand. Shows consistency throughout his smooth delivery keeping his front side closed. Throws out of a high ¾ slot.
Fastball: Shows some zip through the zone topping out at 81mph. Inconsistent arm side run but mostly stays true through the zone.
Curveball: Sharp bite on this 1/7 break. Comfortable throwing this pitch and shows consistency when locating. Anywhere from 65-70 mph.
Changeup: Arm speed is the same as fastball. Pitch has some fade towards the end at 70-71mph.

Gavin Jones: RHP/OF, (2022) North Royalton, OH. 6-foot-3, 205-pound. Advanced on the mound, using a loose arm action he showed quick arm speed from a high ¾ arm angle. Slow-tempo type pitcher who uses easy effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Curveball (78-81 mph), changeup (77-81 mph).Threw his fastball 89-91 mph. One of the biggest stock risers of the winter.

Delivery Notes: Jones shows a smooth tempo to his delivery and throws from a ¾ arm slot. Overall a short, efficient arm action.
Fastball: The fastball was 83-84 mph and showed some sink and fade to the arm side.
Curveball: His breaking ball was 67-70 mph with a curveball spin. Good pitch with depth and bite.
Changeup: The changeup was 76-77 mph.
Pitchability: Jones showed good command of his fastball and an ability to throw his breaking ball in the zone.

Delivery Notes: Tall athletic projectable build with tight arm action that does a great job driving his lower half towards the plate.
Fastball: Plus accuracy coming in with above average spin at 82-84mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1948-2213
Curveball: 11/5 axis that shows some depth and sharp bite keep hitters off guard sitting around 69-72mph.
Curveball Spin Rate: 2002-2200
Changeup: Looks like a fastball coming out of the arm with a late bite at 77mph
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 160-pound very projectable frame. Looks the part.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Tight arm action with an explosive lower half. All around smooth delivery.
Fastball: 80-83mph. Electric fastball with a near 100% efficiency on the Rapsodo. Ability to locate on both sides of the plate.
Curveball: 62-64mph with 11/5 movement. Ability to locate in the zone.
Changeup: 74mph. Almost enough to keep hitters off balance.
Pitchability: High pitch ability with three pitches in the zone on both sides of the plate.
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 160-pound athletic kid with a high-waist and long limbs. Looks the part.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Good athlete out there with an easy delivery. Arm works well through a high-¾ slot. Generates impressive arm speed without a ton of effort.
Fastball: 78-81 mph. Comes out easy and well. Much more to come.
Curveball: 61-63 mph. 11/5, big breaker. Decent pitch for class that should sharpen up with maturity.
Changeup: 71-72 mph. The more developed of the two secondary offerings. Good sell on it with some depth.
Pitchability: Look of a three pitch guy down the road. Fastball is his best pitch presently.
Additional Comments: High follow with bright future. Ideal pitcher’s frame with an easy delivery. All signs point to a high velo guy down the road. Ton of upside here.

Scouting Notes: Two-way talent. Live arm that projects to add velocity to his current fastball up to 84mph. Complements the heater with a sharp, sweeping breaking ball with quality action across the zone. Stuff is quality. Definite guy to follow.
