OUTLOOK: 

With 6 starters returning and talented young players joining the team, the Lions look to make some noise in the Central Section.  This is a team that has long-term plans with a young crop of talented underclass players ready to take Kerman to the Division 3 title. Having a strong collection of arms will allow for timely hitting to string together big innings. If the Lions can solidify on defense behind their talent pitching staff this could be an extended run in the playoffs. 

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS:

‘20 RHP/UTL Gavin Layton R/R

Gavin returns as our top Offensive leader from last year.  He will also be making a big impact on the mound, last year he was 2-0 with 3 saves. Great overall athlete! 

‘20 RHP/OF Christian Castro R/R

Christian will be throwing many more innings this year.  He was 1-0 with a 1.85 ERA last season

‘21 2B/RHP Christian Chavez R/R

Christian was a great leadoff hitter and great second baseman.  He will also be seeing some time on the mound this year. He is a very hard worker and one of the most respected kids on the team.

‘21 INF Jayden Garcia R/R

Jayden will be a key part to the offense this year with good gap to gap power.  

‘21 OF/LHP Julian Zapata L/L

True CF with speed and range in OF with arm having strength. Julian has the potential to be an impact player with his speed.  If an infielder bobbles a ground ball he will most likely beat it out.

‘21 1B/OF/LHP Daylon Yount L/L

Daylon has worked hard for his craft and has a chance to have a good year.  He has been working with his swing and we could see a bigger impact from him this year.  

THE FUTURE:

‘22 LHP/UTL Devon Daniel L/L

One of the top LHP in the 2022 class. Had a 0.59 ERA last season and was Co-Pitcher of our League as a freshman.  We cannot wait to watch Devon continue to develop. Devon is one of the most saavy players I have had the pleasure to be around.  His leadership will shine this year.  

‘22 RHP/UTL Anthony Delgado R/R

Anthony is a very good athlete, he will see time on the mound and play multiple positions for us.   He has a lanky frame that he will continue to build upon. We look forward to seeing him on the mound and competing all year.  

‘23 SS Dominic Puentes R/R

One of the top incoming Freshman in the ‘23 class. Coaches have high hopes and for good reason as power, defense and arm are all present. He will start as a Freshman showing the ability to be a team leader from Day 1.
