2018 Future Games - Team Massachusetts Preview
One of the most anticipated events of the year is finally upon us.
The seventh annual Prep Baseball Report Future Games will take place Aug. 1-4 when top uncommitted prospects in the classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 converge on Grand Park in Westfield, Ind., just north of Indianapolis. There will be 24 teams, including Team Massachusetts, with players representing 35 states plus the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.
More than 200 colleges from across the country will be looking on as approximately 500 players participate in this year’s event. In 2017, a record 247 college and professional coaches and scouts were in attendance, an increase of nearly 100 from the year prior.
“The Future Games has quickly become the most highly scouted showcase event in the country by college coaches,” Chris Valentine, PBR Executive Director for Ohio, Michigan, Canada and New England, said after last year’s event. “As PBR adds new coverage areas, it brings new players and new college coaches to the event. It is exciting to think of the potential as we move forward.”
Following is a quick look at Team Massachusetts and each player heading into the Future Games.
