The line between a first team All-State nominee and a second teamer was an extremely thin one, as evidence by the type of talent and statistics you’ll see from our 2017 PBR Second Team All-State members.
Let’s take a look at the 2017 PBR Second Team All-State roster:
PITCHERS
Bobby Miller RHP / 1B / McHenry West, IL / 2017
Louisville commit. No stranger to all-state teams, Miller put up impressive numbers on the mound and also did damage at the plate. Was drafted in the 38th round by the Baltimore Orioles.
|
Jacob Maton RHP / SS / Chatham-Glenwood, IL / 2018
Coastal Carolina commit. Maton is one of the top 2018 arms in the midwest. Sits comfortably in the upper 80's and has one of the best breaking balls in the class.
|
Ryan Loutos RHP / 1B / Barrington, IL / 2017
Washington University (MO) commit. Strong bodied right-handed pitcher displayed impeccable command to go along with an upper 80's fastball.
|
CATCHER
Matt McCormick C / 3B / St. Laurence, IL / 2019
