WV Top Prospect Games: Day Two Highlights

The WV Top Prospect Games wrapped up yesterday with defensive evaluations and two final nine inning games at the YMCA Kennedy Center Field in Huntington yesterday. Following is a look at top in game performances as well as a look at a few prospects that shined during the defensive evaluation period. Complete statistical results on all prospects in attendance will be released tomorrow.
GREY Team:
+ 2017 3B/RHP Lane Casto (Ripley) went 2-for-3 at the plate with three stolen bases and two runs scored. The two way prospect also flashed heavy arm side run to his fastball that topped at 79 mph.
+ 2017 3B/OF Kirk Jennings (Cabell Midland) registered a 90 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 6.70 60-yard dash on Day One. He added to his performance yesterday going 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored while also showing athletic actions in the outfield with an 80 mph arm.
+ 2016 RHP/1B Hunter Haddix (Bridgeport) worked three effective innings on the mound and showed solid defensive skills at first base. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-handed hitter also went 2-for-3 at the plate.
+ 2017 C/2B Connor Fields (Buffalo) went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI ini game action.
BLUE Team:
+ 2016 OF/LHP Blake Randell (Ellwood City, PA) went 2-for-4 yesterday, finishing the weekend with four hits in seven at bats. The left-handed thrower ran a 6.96 60-yard dash and displayed an accurate 77 mph arm from the outfield during defensive evaluations.
+ 2017 OF Ben Arthur (George Washington) went 3-for-7 at the plate on the weekend two stolen bases, three RBI and two runs scored. Arthur also turned in the top 60-yard dash at the event at 6.62 and showcased an 84 mph arm from the outfield.
RED team:
+ 2017 RHP/OF Hunter Treece (Pine-Richland, PA) finished the weekend with three hits in five at bats. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitter registered an 88 mph bat exit velocity and consistently barreled the baseball in game action. Treece flashed an 85 mph arm from the outfield and topped at 83 mph from the mound during three scoreless innings of work.
+ 2017 C/3B Drew Hefner (Bridgeport) flashed advanced defensive abilities with pop times of 2.00-2.08 on throws of 75 mph from the crouch.
white team:
+ 2016 3B/RHP Corey Fogle (Connelsville, PA) registered a 92 mph bat exit velocity on Day One and went 3-for-4 with a run scored in game action yesterday. Fogle also flashed his two-way abilities, topping at 82 mph on the mound during two innings of work.
+ 2017 1B/OF Jake Trautman (Pittsburgh Central Catholic, PA) displayed his left-handed power bat lacing two double to right, the first of which hit off the top of the fence.
+ 2017 C Matt Jewell (Nitro), a recent Wright State commit, flashed pop times of 1.98-2.05 on throws of 77 mph from the crouch. The 6-foot, 195-pound right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 at the plate yesterday with a double, an RBI and two stolen bases.
