Thanksgiving Review Analysis: Class of 2019 & 2021

The 2016 Thanksgiving Review took place Saturday, November 19th at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim, PA with nearly prospects from four classes displaying their skills. Today we conclude our analysis of all prospects in attendance by reviewing those players who participated from the Class of 2019 and 2021.

CLASS OF 2019

Jeffrey BilligJeffrey Billig, OF, Avon Grove
5-foot-8, 160-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short lift-and-replace stride. Short, pull oriented swing with barrel whip generated in large part by upper half. Displayed the ability to create backspin with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Sophomore flashed above average foot speed (6.79 60-yard dash) and accurate 76 mph arm strength from his outfield position.

Ricky BromirskiRicky Bromirski, C/OF, Ephrata
6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a toe-tap stride to initiate his swing. The sophomore put together a solid round of batting practice displaying good feel for the barrel with a short, repeatable swing path and a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Bromirski ran a 6.96 60-yard dash and showcased 70 mph arm strength from the crouch with pop times of 2.33-2.40. Quiet receiver presents a soft wall when blocking.

David MangoldDavid Mangold, 2B/SS, Cumberland Valley
5-foot-8, 150-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a short swing path and a line drive approach with a solid hip turn during one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. 7.30 60-yard dash, 81 mph bat exit velocity and 73 mph arm strength will continue to improve through strength gains and physical maturity.  

Alex MealsAlex Meals, 1B/C, Oil City
5-foot-10, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a closed stance a utilizes a reverse toe-tap stride to initiate his swing. Incorporates a split grip on the bat and fails to finish swing after contact limiting the ability to fully incorporate his lower half. Registered a 74 mph bat exit velocity, ran a 7.40 60-yard dash and displayed accurate 66 mph arm strength across the diamond from first base. 

Hunter MurryHunter Murry, C, Elizabethtown Area
5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a toe-tap stride to initiate his swing. A deep load into an arm-bar leads to some length in his swing but Murry displayed the ability to get to the hitting zone on time regularly with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. The sophomore will need additional work to improve his transition and footwork defensively. Murry showcased pop times of 2.45-2.55 on throws of 68 mph from the crouch.

CLASS OF 2021

Peter KernPeter Kern, OF/3B, TBD
6-foot, 165-pound eighth grader has a projectable frame and showcased lots of fast twitch actions on the day (6.75 60-yard dash). The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and creates solid barrel whip (80 mph) with a short, heel-raise stride and an aggressive hip turn. Although he has some length to his swing signs of future power to the pull side are evident. The underclassman displayed a developing skill set defensively with accurate 77 mph arm strength from the outfield.
