Super 60: Statistical Analysis

The 16th Annual Super 60 Pro Showcase took place on Sunday, February 4 at the Max-McCook Athletic & Exposition Center’s state-of-the-art 125,000 square-foot open turf facility in McCook, IL. This invite-only event featured 70 of the top 2018 high school draft prospects in Prep Baseball Report's 35+ state coverage area. Prospects participated in a pro-style workout in front of the PBR Staff along with approximately 200 professional scouts. Today, we begin the event analysis with a stats story. TOP 60 Yard dash TIMES
Outfielders dominated the top-end of the 60 yard dash, posting the top four times. Arkansas commit Christian Franklin (Rockhurst, MO) recorded the top 60 of the day with 6.50. Coming in just behind Franklin were Louisville commit Jarred Kelenic (Waukesha West, WI) and Texas A&M commit Miko Ridriguez (Forest Hills Central, MI) with 6.55 and 6.59 times of their own. In total 29 of the 46 prospects to run the 60 posted sub-7.00 times.

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY
24 of the 27 pitchers had fastballs that topped 90 mph or better. Wake Forest commit Ryan Cusick (Avon Old Farms, CT) and Indian Hills CC commit Tyler Lewis (WDM Valley, IA) take home the top spot on our fastball velocity leaderboard at 95 mph.

TOP EXIT VELOCITY
Eight prospects were able to register 100 mph or better exit velocities off a tee with a wood bat. Vanderbilt commit John Malcom (Country Day, MI) put up the best exit velocity of the day, with a 105 mph effort. Louisville commit Alex Binelas (Oak Creek, WI) came in just behind at 104.

Missouri commit Seth Halvorsen (Heritage Christian Academy, MN) set a new Super 60 record for velocity across the infield with his 97 mph throw, breaking Justin O'Conner's record of 96 mph.

TOP OUTFIELD VELOCITY
Widely regarded as one of the top prospects in the upcoming MLB Draft, Jarred Keleinc continued to prove why. Kelenic came out firing from the outfield, being clocked at 96 on two of his five throws and 95 on another two.

Louisville commit Henry Davis(Fox Lane, NY) and Mississippi State commitHayden Jones (Carroll, IN) recorded the top pop times of the event at 1.82 seconds. Along with being the quickest, Davis was also the most consistent with his times.
