West Allegheny 4, Ellwood city 1
In a well played game by both teams the Indians were able to defeat the Wolverines thanks to timely hitting and solid defense.
West Allegheny got on the board in the bottom of the first when Austin Hendrick (currently No. 1 in the PBR Class of 2020 overall rankings) singled, stole second and scored on a Justin Usenicnik single. The Indians extended the lead in the second on a walk and RBI single by Trey Zeroski (pictured below).
After a Hendrick single and 1-6-3 double play by Ellwood City, Devin Donaldson tripled to the opposite field. He then scored on a Michael Starkman single making it 3-0. Ellwood City was able to avoid the shutout on an RBI single by Rick Petrelli in the sixth.
The Indians added one in the seventh to close out the scoring when Alderson Broaddus recruit Chasen Claus singled and was driven in by a Zeroski single. Zeroski, Clause and Hendrick each had two hit games for the Indians.
