Lancaster Catholic 12, Anville-Cleona 2
On a beautiful sunny day at Clipper Magazine Stadium, home of the Lancaster Barnstormers, errors and walks played a major role in the final outcome. Lancaster Catholic walked away with a 12-2, 5-inning win in what was a tight game through three innings.
Lancaster Catholic benefited from a two walks, a hit batter and two errors to build early leads of 3-0 and then 4-2. Annville-Cleona made things interesting in the 3rd inning, plating two runs on two hits, a walk and two Crusaders' errors.
After extending the lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the 4th inning, Lancaster Catholic broke things open in the 4th. The Crusaders sent 11 men to the plate, scoring six times, with senior catcher Tyler Peters' 3-run triple being the big blow.
2018 left-handed pitcher Dillon Marsh worked the first four innings for the win. The Kentucky commit allowed one earned run on two hits and three walks while striking out nine. Senior second baseman Bryan Downey (2-3, 2B, R, 2 SB) and senior outfielder Brayden Clair, a Shippensburg recruit (2-3, R, RBI), were the only Crusaders to record multiple hits.
Senior outfielder Mitch Long led the Anville-Cleona offense going 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.
