Game of the Day (April 30, 2019)
May 1, 2019
Hempfield 7, Manheim Township 6
With a chance to secure the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section One title with a win, Hempfield used a full season's worth of late inning magic to pull out a win in the bottom of the 7th inning.
The Black Knights jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning on a two out RBI single from Grove City commit C.J. Saylor.

Hempfield held that lead in a quick, well played game until the top of the 5th inning when Manheim Township erupted for six hits and four runs to take a 4-1 lead. The big blow in the inning came on a two run double off the bat of uncommitted senior Brenden Moshos.
The Blue Streaks added single runs in the 6th and 7th innings, the second of which came on a solo home run off the bat of uncommitted senior Colin Yablonski, setting the stage for heroics from the Hempfield offense in the bottom of the inning.
Four singles to open the inning, followed by a sacrifice fly and a walk cut the lead to 6-3. Uncommitted junior Cole Houser followed with a one out, two run double to slice the lead to 6-5.

With runners at 2nd and 3rd senior Nick Fiore capped the come back lining a 1-0 pitch into right center field to plate the tying and game winning run to send Hempfield home with the 7-6 win in walk off fashion.
Hempfield moved to 15-2 on the season and locked up the section title with a 13-1 league mark. Manheim Township fell to 12-6 with the loss.
