Joe Bolick singled on the third pitch of the game, stole second and scored when No. 2 hitter Matt Wood (top right) singled.  Negley (top middle), ranked No. 29 in the PA Class of 2017, got out of the 1st inning with no further damage.  The Santa Clara recruit kept the Rams off the board over the final six innings allowing five hits and two walks while striking out seven on 104 pitches.

On most nights Negley's gem would have been more than enough for a Butler win, but Okuda (top left) was just a bit better. The Virginia Tech recruit, ranked No. 49 in the PA Class of 2017, went the distance on just 77 pitches.  He allowed just two hits and a walk while recording nine strikeouts.

No player had more than one hit on the evening for either team. Josh Johnson's triple for Pine-Richland was the game's only extra base hit.  Pine Richland stands at 12-2 following the win.  Butler fell to 8-5 on the season.
