Fall Measurables and Evaluation Showcase: Corner Infield Analysis

The Fall Measurables & Evaluation Showcase took place on November 2nd at Keystone State Baseball Academy giving our staff a final look this fall at prospects from three states. Today we continue a series of articles analyzing the prospects in attendance with a look at those players that participated as primary corner infielders.

Corner Infield Analysis
Ethan Ferraro, Boyertown HS, 3B/RHP, 2021
6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing from a high hands load with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed balance throughout and hands that work well through contact. Registered a bat exit velocity of 85 mph and ran an 8.01 60-yard dash. Showcased capable defensive actions with 76 mph arm strength across the diamond out of a long arm throwing motion. The righty also sat 75-77 from a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound with a deliberate, low effort motion. Showed a feel for his curveball with 11/5 rotation at 64-67 and cut to his changeup at 66-68.
Jimmy Kirk, Malvern Prep, 1B, 2021
6-foot-1, 200-pound right-handed hitter took one of the top rounds of batting practice at the event. He starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short, leg-hang stride. Showcased an aggressive lower half with above average and a high finish resulting in routine backspin. Registered an event best 92 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.89 60-yard dash. Displayed a soft glove hand and active feet around the bag at first base with accurate 70 mph arm strength across the diamond.
Mike Myro, Blue Mountain HS, 3B/RHP, 2022
6-foot, 150-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a controlled lift-and-replace stride. Showcased balance throughout while staying behind the baseball showing a feel for the barrel with a high finish. Registered a bat exit velocity of 83 mph and ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. Solid defender gained ground with active feet and showed a short throwing motion with accurate 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. The righty also sat 79-80 from a 3/4 arm slot with a long, loose motion. Curveball showed sweeping 10/4 rotation with late down action. Changeup is an above average pitch thrown with good sell at 67-71 with cutting action.
AJ Wenrich, Central Dauphin HS, 3B, 2022
6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to begin. Showcased balance throughout with limited lower half action and loose hands through the hitting zone. Registered a bat exit velocity of 82 mph and ran a 6.89 60-yard dash. Displayed athletic defensive actions while routinely playing through the baseball with solid carry on throws of 80 mph across the diamond.
Perry Wright, Newport HS, 1B/RHP, 2023
5-foot-7, 157-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing from a high elbow load with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a feel for the barrel with some length to his swing. Registered a bat exit velocity of 67 mph and ran a 7.31 60-yard dash. Displayed developing defensive skills around the bag at first base with accurate 60 mph arm strength across the diamond.
