Potential Breakout 2022 Prospects
As a new baseball season is upon us, it allows us here at PBR to begin identifying the top prospects across the province from a new class. We’ve had several opportunities over the past few months to get a look at the class of 2022 through the 15U Ray Carter Cup, PBR showcases and fall ball. The four names atop the rankings are no secret across the province thanks to impressive showings at either T12, our PBR Future Games event or the national championship but there’s several other names on the list who could be ready to break out in 2020 and make a case for themselves to join the top ten in the class.
Max Zentil RHP / 3B / Richview Collegiate Institute, ON / 2022Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 5
Report: Zentil’s size immediately jumps out on the mound, standing at 6-foot-4, 190-pounds and there’s projectability across the board from the right-hander. Fires the ball from a ¾-slot with clean mechanics a slow, controlled delivery. His fastball sits 76-79 but you can expect to see a lot more 80’s on the radar gun from Zentil in 2020. The curveball has 11-5 shape with downward action and some added feel for the pitch could make him very dangerous going forward. |
