PBLO All-Star Game - Scouting Notes
June 15, 2022
On Saturday, June 11th, the PBLO All-Star Game was hosted in Oshawa with a 16U game and an 18U game. We had several of our scouts on hand to get a look at some of the top talent from one of Ontario’s top leagues.
PBR Ontario Scouting Intern, Tillie Burlock, breaks down six players who’s game stood out amongst some of the league’s top talent.
Uncommitted '24 OF Ryan King - King’s athletic 5-foot-9 frame immediately stood out in CF. King moves well and is light on his feet with an ability to see the ball, tracking down a deep line drive for a diving catch early in the game. The strong, stocky RHH showed a good approach taking pitchers deep into counts and driving the ball to his pull side. Short load with a compact swing taking his hands directly to the ball. With potential for more power and room to grow, King is a player to watch as he develops with the London Badgers this summer.
Solid contact from UC ‘24 Ryan King.

Athletic body that shows well in centre field. @London_Badgers || #PBRIsThere ?? pic.twitter.com/g2QPlzI2LA
Uncommitted 2024 LHP Jacob Morgan - The young lefty jumped out at us this Saturday in Oshawa. Projectable 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame looks right on the mound and shows off a smooth and easy delivery. Morgan worked a 3-pitch mix with whippy arm action and an athletic delivery. An intriguing young arm to follow as the body fills out, it was a good first look at the uncommitted 2024.

First look at the 6-1, 175 lefty. Flowey motion, arm works, used a 3-pitch mix, looks right on the mound w/ how he moves.
Interesting arm here in Oshawa.@PBR_Ontario || @ThePBLO pic.twitter.com/229ZRKvabf
Uncommitted 2024 RHP Jackson Kornylo - After seeing Kornylo earlier this month, we were looking forward to getting a second in-game look this weekend. The lanky 6-foot-4 frame is hard to miss and lends projectability to Kornylo’s promising stuff. The uncommitted ‘24 lives down in the zone with the fastball that lives 82-85 and nicely sets up a fading change-up. He used a gradual slider that showed some bite at times for a few swings and misses. Loose arm-action, still has room to develop control and consistency on all three pitches in his repertoire. A promising arm to follow.

Lengthy 6-foot-4 projectable frame looks good on the mound.
Pounding the zone with the FB and showing good feel for the CH with fade. Kept all 3 pitches down in the zone.

Uncommitted 2024 C Solomon Harwood - After his showing at the Future Games Trials, we got our first look at Harwood in-game. At 5-foot-10, Harwood’s sturdy, athletic frame stands out as he moves well around the diamond. Behind the dish, the uncommitted ‘24 showed off a quick transfer, arm strength, and active footwork with runners on base. In the batters box, Harwood swung a quick bat with some juice. A young, athletic catcher to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.

Uncommitted 2022 SS/RHP Scott Rienguette (West Virginia Tech) - Rienguette impressed on the bump this Saturday. The 5-foot-10 RHP attacked hitters with a runny armside fastball that jumped out of his hand. He throws from a ¾ arm slot, lived mid 80s with an easy delivery and fast arm action. Rienguette consistently located in the zone, getting swings and misses on his lively fastball while setting up a sharp breaking ball down in the zone. Impressed with his ability to control both of his pitches, induced weak contact, the West Virginia Tech commit is one to keep an eye on as the season continues and he further develops his game.

'22 RHP Ethan Price (Cloud County CC) - This Saturday in Oshawa, Cloud County CC commit Ethan Price put away hitters quickly and quietly. The 5-foot-10 RHP sat 85-86, got up to 87 and lived in the strike zone with a fastball that had life. His FB control allowed him to get ahead early, and set up a sharp breaker to put hitters away. Good tempo on the mound with room to develop more consistency with the breaking ball. Athletic body with fast arm action - an interesting pitcher to keep an eye on as he heads into his first year of JUCO ball.
2 Ks through one from Cloud County (@CCCCsports) commit Ethan Price.
