pbr canada 'mizuno' prospects of the week

We bring you PBR Canada's, 'Mizuno' Player's of the Week. We have one coming each of our territory's across the country, highlighted by a pair of '21 Future Gamers.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

Wylie Waters SS / 3B / Sentinel Secondary, BC / 2022

Waters, an interesting uncommitted 2022 out of the North Shore Twins program, definitely passes the eye test with his 6-2 180 pound frame. Waters doesn’t get cheated, shows good plate discipline, and recognizes drivable fastballs. The setup for Waters’ swing is compact and twitchy, with quiet hands and an aggressive leg kick. The swing is geared towards line drives with some juice in the bat.

ALBERTA

Cardel Dick C / SS / Vauxhall, AB / 2023

Dick is establishing himself as an intriguing name for the 2023 class. At the plate,  Dick stays in legs, with an arm bar load and a simple but effective hand path towards the baseball. At contact, Dick catches the ball out front with good extension and solid bat-to-ball skills. A sleeper on our 2021 Future Games squad, he’s a guy to follow for schools with a 5’10 180-pound body that is still growing.

ONTARIO

Cameron Chee-Aloy OF / SS / Neil McNeil, ON / 2023

Chee-Aloy, a well-rounded 2023 Illinois commit, has the tools to do it all on the field. At the plate his setup is explosive with a lot of fast twitch, barrel gets through the zone flat with good extension. A tough out for pitchers, Chee-Aloy doesn’t have too many moving parts in his swing, he recognizes spin out of the hand early and has great body composure. On the defensive side, you could argue Chee-Aloy owns the best outfield arm in the country. His speed gives him some range, and his twitch plays out there. Another Team Canada prospect who will get some pro  interest as a true 2022 grad.

QUEBEC

Louka Daoust 2B / 3B / Academie Baseball Canada, QC / 2022

Daoust, a 2022 West Virginia commit, has solidified himself as one of the more well-rounded hitters in his class. At a firm 5’11, 175 lbs, his swing is compact and aggressive, with good barrel feel. At contact the ball jumps off the bat with loud barrels to all parts of the field. Has a good look to him with a broad athletic frame, and will have pro looks this year.

ATLANTIC

Matthew Mackenzie RHP / OF / Vauxhall , NS / 2022

Mackenzie, the Colby Community College commit, has the ability to turn some heads at the college level. Originally from Nova Scotia and now with Vauxhall, his delivery is clean and whippy with a loose arm action. The tempo is fast and efficient while getting down the mound fast. At 6-foot-2 165-pounds, there's room to fill out and add strength and size. Last year the fastball sat low to mid 80s, and we expect a big jump this season.
