The third annual Preseason All-State Showcase was held at The Grind sports facility in Oklahoma City, OK on Sunday, February 3rd. This one day event featured a completely sold out event of 100 prospects in the 2019-2022 classes from around the state showcasing their skills in front of PBR staff.
This talented event saw impressive numbers in every category, including 16 sub seven second 60s, eight 90+ exit velos, 10 arms that were 85+ across the infield (top 92), nine arms that were 85+ from the outfield (top 91), four sub two second pop times, and 10 pitchers that were 85+ (top 93)

First Basemen
Roman Duren Jr. LHP / OF / Jones, OK / 2019A 5-foot-10, 185-pound durable frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a wide open, narrow, and quiet setup with a slight crouch. Uses a long and early stride with a late heel plant before launching his hands on a flat path through extension with effort, barrel strength, and some bat speed. In BP, shows an all fields and mostly flat approach with occasional lift, nearly all barrels, 79 exit velo. Runs a 7.71 60. Defensively, shows confident, aggressive, and quick actions with average hands and feet. Throws with a full and fast arm stroke coming through an over the top slot. Shows accuracy at 80 mph on double play turns. |
Caden Favors LHP / 1B / Carl Albert, OK / 2020A 6-foot-2, 182-pound long and projectable frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open, balanced and athletic set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a big and smooth load before taking a moderate and early stride and launching his hands on flat path through extension with some bat speed. In BP, shows a flat and middle of the field approach with mostly barrels and more power than his 81 mph exit velo would suggest. Runs a 6.9 60. Defensively, shows deliberate and confident actions with above average hands. Throws with a full and clean arm stroke coming through a near over the top slot with arm speed and accuracy at 83 mph on double play turns. |
Aiden Frizzell 1B / RHP / Deer Creek, OK / 2020A 6-foot, 190-pound frame durable with some strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open, athletic and wide stance with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate leg kick with a rocking load as his hands launch on a slightly uphill path to good extension. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach with occasional lift, nearly all barrels with loud contact and pop, 87 exit velo. Runs a 7.39 60. Defensively, shows confident, controlled actions with fast hands and controlled feet. Throws with a moderate arm stroke with developing length coming through a side arm slot. Shows good accuracy at 77 mph on double play turns. |
Jared Gay LHP / 1B / Piedmont, OK / 2020A 6-foot-1, 205-pound durable frame, . Offensively, the Left-handed hitter bats from an even, balanced setup with quiet hands. Uses a knee-knock load and moderate length stride before launching his hands on a flat bat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach with occasional lift, mostly barrels late in his round, 87 exit velo. Runs a 7.07 60. Defensively, shows quick and aggressive actions with smooth hands. Throws with a long arm stroke coming through an over the top slot. Shows some accuracy at 83 mph on double play turns. |
Gage Gilchrist 1B / RHP / Oklahoma Christian , OK / 2022A 6-foot-1, 205-pound advanced frame with some strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an even, tall, slightly back leg heavy set-up with some rhythm throughout. Uses a short leg lift, short stride, moderate arm bar load before his explosive hands follow a slightly uphill path to solid extension. In BP, shows a middle to pull approach with some lift and pull pop, shows the ability to go to the opposite field gap when pitched away, 83 exit velo. Runs a 7.70 60. Defensively, shows confident actions with above average hands and deliberate movement in his feet. Throws with a quick stroke with good length coming through a high ¾ slot. Shows good accuracy at 72 mph on double play turns. |
William Hoch 1B / LHP / Bishop McGuinness, OK / 2020A 6-foot-1, 195-pound proportional frame with some strength throughout. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a slightly wide, even, and back leg heavy set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a smooth load and moderate stride before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with an uphill finish. In BP, shows an opposite field approach with consistent lift, bats speed, and strength, some barrels, 91 exit velo. Runs a 7.50 60. Defensively, shows clean actions with some athleticism and well above average hands. Throws with a long and full arm stroke coming through a near over the top slot. Shows excellent accuracy at 80 mph on double play turns. |
Shea Morrison 1B / LHP / Harrah, OK / 2020A 6-foot-3, 195-pound lean frame with long limbs and room to add more size and strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a wide, even, and back leg set-up with slightly rhythm in his hands. Uses a short load and stride before launching his hands on an efficient and slightly uphill path with big extension. In BP, shows a middle to pull and flat approach with bat speed and pop, nearly all barrels, 87 exit velo. Runs a 7.44 60. Defensively, shows confident actions with above average hands and quick feet. Seth Stacey LHP / 1B / Tahlequah, OK / 2020A 6-foot-1, 208-pound broad shouldered, durable, and strong frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a balanced, even, upright, and slightly wide set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a smooth arm-bar and knee-knock load before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path with some bat speed and strength. In BP, shows a pull approach with occasional lift and big pop with barrel strength and some bat speed, some barrels, 92 exit velo. Runs a 7.27 60. Will Taylor LHP / 1B / Kingfisher, OK / 2021A 6-foot-1, 175-pound lean frame with some wiry strength and lots of room to add more . Matthew Weber 1B / 3B / Tulsa Memorial, OK / 2019A 6-foot-2, 215-pound durable frame with some strength throughout. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open, athletic, and quiet set-up. Uses a big hand load with a slight arm bar and short stride before launching his hands on a sweeping uphill path with some barrel strength.
