Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma hosted the second annual Top Unsigned Senior Games on Wednesday, June 6th, at the newly turfed Wendell Simmons Field. The event showcased a sold out 60 player roster from the 2019 grad class. Each position player went through a pro-style workout and played in a game. 

Though a few of the players covered here are talented two-way players, today we will cover them as middle infielders, with pitching analysis analysis already completed.

Joshua Baltierra 2B / SS / Calallen, TX / 2016 A 5-foot-6, 155-pound lean frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a front leg heavy and open set-up with rhythm throughout. Uses a smooth rocking load with short leg kick before launching his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows an all fields and flat approach with mostly barrels, 81 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.08 second 60. Defensively, shows advanced hands and feet. Throws with a short arm stroke through multiple slots with a quick release and accuracy at 77 mph across the diamond. In the game, went 0-for-3 with a line out to the pitcher.

Benjamin Cliburn SS / 2B / Deer Creek, OK / 2019 A 5-foot-9, 165-pound lean frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open and balanced set-up with some rhythm throughout. Uses a slight leg lift and moderate stride before pulling his hands through a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle of the field and flat approach, finding barrels late in the round, 75 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.76 second 60. Defensively, shows active feet and soft hands. Throws from multiple slots with a short arm stroke and a quick release and accuracy at 79 mph across the diamond. In the game, went 0-for-2.

Rhett Conkling 2B / RHP / Weatherford , OK / 2019 A 5-foot-11, 160-pound lean frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a back leg heavy set-up with some rhythm in his hands.Uses a short and soft stride before pulling his hands through a slightly uphill path. In BP, shows an all fields and flat approach, found a few barrels, 74 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.33 second 60. Defensively, shows above average feet. Throws with a short arm stroke through a high-3/4 slot with excellent accuracy, 73 mph across the diamond. In the game, went 0-for-2.

Brandon Coontz RHP / 2B / Drummond, OK / 2019 A 6-foot, 175-pound proportional frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly knock-kneed set-up with rhythm throughout. Uses a short stride with a late heel plant before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a flat and middle of the field approach, some barrels, 72 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.02 second 60. Defensively, shows above average footwork and some softness in his hands. Callen Golloway SS / 2B / Blanchard, OK / 2019 A 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with some strength. Tanner Holliman SS / RHP / Oklahoma Christian School, OK / 2019 A 6-foot, 175-pound lean and athletic frame with some strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a balanced and even set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate knee-knock leg kick and hand load before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path with some length. In BP, shows an all fields and mostly flat approach, mostly barrels with bat speed, 93 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.79 second 60. Defensively, shows athleticism with good lateral movement with some softness in his hands. Makes the slow roller play quickly with ease. Throws from multiple arm strokes and slots depending on the play, 86 mph across the diamond with some accuracy. In the game, went 0-for-2 with a couple well struck pull side foul balls.

Drake Irby SS / RHP / Chandler, OK / 2019 A 6-foot, 170-pound lean frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a back leg heavy and open set-up with a slight crouch and rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate stride before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with some bat speed. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field and flat approach, some barrels, 86 mph exit velo.
