PBR OK hosted the fourth annual OK Fall Top Prospect Games at beautiful Central Oklahoma. Over 65 invite-only players showcased their skill in front of the PBR OK staff, 6 colleges and two pro scouts. The talented event saw five sub 7.00 60s, 6 90+ exit velos, 14 infield velos of 80+, four outfield velos of 85+, six sub 2.00 second pop times, and five max fastballs at 85 mph. Players profiles have already been updated with stats and pictures with reports and video to be updated in the weeks to come. The number below do not represent a players all-time best, only what they achieved at this event. Today, we check out the 13 shortstops  from the event.

Elijah Alexander SS / 2B / Westmoore, OK / 2021 Primary middle infielder displayed an athletic and projectable 6-foot-2, 170-pound lean frame with room to add strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter starts with a loose, even stance utilizing a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Loose hands at the shoulder allow for stretch upon load and a slightly uphill barrel-path through impact. Showcased advanced feel for the barrel during batting practice and registered a 78 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee utilizing an easy, repeatable swing. Recorded a 7.33 60-yard dash. The middle infielder played low to the ground with a solid first step allowing for range to both sides. Consistent rhythm while arriving to the baseball created momentum towards his target yielding accurate 80 mph throws across the diamond with more in the tank.

Cal Birchfield SS / RHP / Rattan, OK / 2021 Showcased comfortability in an athletic 6-foot, 170-pound lean frame with present twitch. The left-handed hitter starts with an open stance utilizing a leg-kick to initiate his swing. Quick hands whip through a slightly uphill barrel path in the zone creating backspin to the pull-side. A strong lower-half allowed for advanced barrel awareness during batting practice, registering an 85 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee. Recorded a 7.25 60-yard dash. The primary shortstop demonstrated fluidity in footwork and timing during defensive evaluations, showing off advanced control of his body. Consistently arrived to the baseball on time and played low through the baseball generating strong, accurate throws of 89 mph across the infield with carry out of a high ¾ arm-slot.

Evan Casey SS / OF / Sapulpa, OK / 2021 Showcased obvious feel of a lean 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame with projectability, twitch, and advanced athleticism. The right-handed hitter begins from a balanced, even setup utilizing a leg-kick to initiate his swing. Generated easy bat-speed through a slightly uphill path in the zone coupled with present sink into a quick-twitch lower-half. Displayed advanced barrel whip evidenced by an 84 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee that will only improve as he adds strength to his frame. Recorded an impressive 6.43 60-yard dash flashing his ability to stick at any outfield position at the next level and top of the order prowess. The primary shortstop featured a low center of gravity and quick first step allowing for advanced range to both sides. Arrived to the ball on time generating accurate 88 mph throws across the infield out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot. The outfielder showed the ability to take advantageous routes to the baseball while tracking down anything hit with hang-time. Recorded accurate throws of 90 mph from his position with carry.

Steven Colon Jr SS / 2B / Deer Creek, OK / 2020 Displayed a long and lean 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame that can add additional strength. The right-handed hitter starts with a square, even stance utilizing a knee-knock stride to initiate his swing. Demonstrated a line-drive approach evidenced by a flat barrel-path and hitting into a front-side with give upon contact. Hands take over the swing at times with an early exit from the hitting zone. Registered a 76 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee and recorded a 7.21 60-yard dash. The primary middle infielder featured adequate footwork while playing low the ground allowing for some range to both sides. Smooth transfers and quick hands allowed for accurate 72 mph throws across the infield out of a fluid, high ¾ arm slot.

Raphael Dunlap SS / 3B / Mount St. Mary , OK / 2021 Showcased a lean 5-foot-8, 160-pound frame with room to add strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter starts with a tall, even stance utilizing a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Generated a flat barrel-path through the hitting zone creating a line-drive approach during batting practice. Demonstrated feel for the middle of the field while notching a 74 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee. Recorded an 8.02 60-yard dash. The primary middle infielder featured soft hands and feet that arrived to the ball on time with regularity. Displayed range to both sides with adequate first step quickness. A hitch in the middle of a short takeaway in the back of an over-the-top throwing motion will increase a 72 mph arm-strength across the infield.

Braydyn Escarcega SS / RHP / Allen, OK / 2020 Demonstrated advanced feel of a long and lean 6-foot, 175-pound frame with projectability and athleticism. The right-handed hitter begins in an open stance utilizing a short toe-tap stride to initiate his swing. Solid separation and advanced bat-speed propelled the barrel through a slightly uphill path creating backspin deep to the pull side. An easy, repeatable swing with minimal effort suggests there is room to add onto an already solid 89 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee. Recorded a 6.96 60-yard dash showing comfortability in his current frame. The primary middle infielder displayed smooth, athletic actions during defensive evaluations with advanced range to both sides of the field. Soft hands and feet that arrived on time and played through the baseball set up a fluid 82 mph arm-strength across the infield out of a high ¾ arm-slot. Featured comfortability on the slow-roller play with a body and measurables that point to any of the three infield spots at the next level.

Will Goodwin SS / 2B / Regent Prep, OK / 2023 Displayed a lean 5-6, 130-pound frame with room to add size and strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter starts with an even stance utilizing a lift-and-replace stride to begin his swing. The barrel starts on the shoulder and moves back upon load allowing for a flat barrel path to enter the hitting zone. Demonstrated a line drive approach with a feel for the barrel notching a 77 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee. Recorded a 7.71 60-yard dash. The primary middle infielder showcased advanced feet and arrived to the ball on time with regularity. Featured multiple arm angles during defensive evaluations with comfortability and athleticism on the slow roller. Registered an accurate 74 mph arm-strength across the infield out of a high ¾ arm slot with a moderate takeaway.

Elijah Laus SS / 2B / Edmond North, OK / 2022 Demonstrated feel for a lean 5-foot-6, 150-pound frame with athleticism and room to add size and strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins with an even stance utilizing a lift-and-replace stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Advanced hip shoulder separation created pull side pop and twitch while hitting into a stiff front side. Registered a solid 85 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee with feel for the barrel during batting practice. Recorded a 7.34 60-yard dash. The primary middle infielder featured active footwork creating advantageous hops allowing for momentum towards the target. Soft hands and smooth transfers yielded accurate 72 mph arm-strength out of a short, high ¾ arm-slot. An increase in takeaway will improve positional velocity in the future.

Dawson Owens SS / 2B / Yukon , OK / 2022 Displayed a long and lean 5-foot-11, 140-pound frame with projectability and present athleticism. The right-handed hitter begins with a wide, even stance utilizing high hands upon setup and a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. A compact stroke combined with a slightly uphill barrel path generated a line-drive approach during batting practice. Zandt Payne SS / 3B / Deer Creek, OK / 2021 The 5-foot-10, 150-pound primary middle infielder featured a lean 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame with projectability and athleticism. The switch-hitter mirrors from both sides of the plate starting with an even, balanced stance utilizing high hands and a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Generated a slightly uphill barrel path with advanced depth in the hitting zone. Demonstrated feel for the barrel repetitively stroking line drives to all fields during batting practice. An already solid 83 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee will improve as he adds strength to his frame as he matures. Recorded a 6.97 60-yard dash. The shortstop showcased advanced footwork creating advantageous hops during defensive evaluations. Quick hands and a sharp first-step allowed for range to both sides and comfortability to make plays on the run. Eli Ramirez SS / RHP / Duncan , OK / 2024 Demonstrated feel for a lean 5-foot-4, 120-pound frame with room to add size and strength as he matures. The primary right-handed hitter begins with a narrow, open stance utilizing a leg-hang with weight shift to initiate his swing. Displayed solid hip shoulder separation while entering the zone at a slightly uphill barrel path creating lift to the pull side gap. Showed feel for the barrel during batting practice while recording a 74 mph bat-exit velocity from the tee. Registered a 7.58 60-yard dash. Jake Schow SS / 3B / Mustang , OK / 2020 The primary middle infielder showcased a physical and athletic 5-foot-8, 165-pound frame with some twitchiness in his actions. Created barrel whip through a slightly uphill bat path while hitting into a soft front side.
