Initial Class of 2027 Player Rankings
This will be the 16th class we’ve ranked since the inception of PBR Ohio and we truly believe it has a chance to be one to remember. The talent from top to bottom is not only advanced but the talent pool is deep as well. Today we will introduce you to the initial top 5 as well as give you a handful of names just “off the cusp” you can expect to see on this list sooner than later.
In 2023 we crowned four state champions during the spring and enjoyed a full summer and fall with tournaments/showcases throughout the state. During this time, we have searched far and wide throughout the state to find the best prospects we can, to help them get to college and to help colleges find prospects that fit their culture.
With many names be noted and talked about by some of the most prestigious programs in the nation. Below we will take a look at The Top 5 and "On The Cusp Prospects".

The Top Five
Noah Goettke OF / RHP / Archbishop Moeller, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 1 / POS: 1
Report: As it stands today he’s the most explosive player in that class. Elite tools - 6.8 speed, 92mph arm from the OF, 100+ capabilities off the barrel. On top of that he’s homered in two premier events we saw him in the summer. |
Devlan Daniel OF / RHP / Indian Hill, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 2
Report: You could make a real argument for Daniel being No. 1. Another guy with an elite combo of tools and production - 6.8 speed, 90+mph arm, and run producer traits from both sides of the plate. Also can run it into the mid 80s off the mound. |
Nathan McDowell RHP / Troy, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 1
Report: High-end talent who dominated at this years’ JR Future Games for Team Ohio. Fastball is already up to 85 mph with obvious traits of more to come while showing advanced feel for secondary. |
Donovan Glosser C / OF / Archbishop Moeller, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 1
Report: Very well could be the most impactful in-game player at this point. Advanced traits behind the dish with some of the top catch/throw skills you’ll find at that age and can really receive. In the box he’s hit at a high-level every time we’ve seen him, clearly was one of the most polished bats on a loaded Team Ohio this summer. |
Jaden Bakhit OF / RHP / Mason, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 3
Report: We caught a start from Jaden at the front end of the summer and it was electric. The velo was obviously there at 87 mph but he also showed athleticism and pitchability on the mound. Don’t be the least bit surprised if he ends up being one of the top power arms in the Midwest. |
On The Cusp
This class has potential to be one of the best in recent memory. Here are a few of many names that were on our “Big Board” for the first class release.
- Anthony Groner, OF/LHP, Canfield - Potential premier, two-way prospect in class. 6-foot-2, L/L w/low 80s juice on the bump and middle of the order traits offensively. When he’s on there’s few better. Could easily have be a Top 5 guy before it’s all said and done.
- Anderson Alacchi, C, Lake - LHH catchers with upside are some of the most rare prospects to find and he has a chance to be elite. Explosive offensive tools in the box with a well above average skill set behind the dish. Another guy you could make an argument to be in the Top 5.
- Nate Henderson, LHP, Watterson - Not much to dislike here. Low 80s southpaw with significant projection left on his 6-foot-2 frame, cleaner arm, and athleticism (QB in football). All the traits are there for him to be a top end southpaw in this class.
- Chase Roesch, SS, Badin - Can flat out play / will only go stock up as he adds physicality with maturity. Rakes from the left side and right now projects to stay up the middle.
- David Ternosky, RHP/3B, Walsh Jesuit - Quality athlete / QB in football - with two-way power projection. We’ve seen it up to 85mph on the mound and he can flat out rotate offensively. Going to be a good one.
- Reggie Watson, SS, Moeller - Another guy who stands out in game. Silky smooth mover in all aspects with advanced feel for the game on both sides of the ball. Can expect him to profile as a top of the lineup / middle guy moving forward.
- Manny Ramos, SS, North Ridgeville - Advanced skill set defensively / It’s early but he could be a true SS candidate at the next level. Offensively, it’s a top of the lineup type w/much more to come as he adds.
- Grayson Davis, OF, Olentangy Liberty - Premier athlete w/star potential in 3 sports. Legit candidate to hit in the middle of the lineup and the speed to play CF.
- Jackson Turnbull, OF, Pickerington North - Athletic looking lefty hit tool that has big, fluid movements to loading sequence that come together well. Stood out offensively amongst the state’s best at JFG.
- Rocco Bucci, OF/LHP, Olentangy - Dude flat out produces. Always hits no matter the stage and is a bulldog on the mound. As he continues to add explosiveness with maturity expect him to only go stock up.
- Koby Dues, SS, Vandalia Butler - It’s not hard to see he’s a son of a Coach and brother of a current pro with his high-level baseball intelligence. Also as sure-handed as they come and has a ton of feel for the barrel in the box.
- Connor Maupin, SS, Moeller - Another guy who stood out in all phases in Georgia for Team Ohio. Maupin has a natural feel for the game / found barrels and made plays all weekend.
- Jackson Schilling, C/3B, Vandalia Butler - Talented backstop defensively with an athletic sequence, quality tools, and high-end barrel awareness in the box. He’s performed on every big stage we’ve seen him on.
