Ohio Insider: Updated Class of 2019 Player Rankings (August)

During the spring and summer, we covered the OHSAA High School season in the spring, held numerous showcases/events and covered many tournaments across the state in the summer. These proved valuable for many 2019 prospects, with many names coming off the board to some of the top programs around the nation. Below we will take a look at “What’s New At The Top”, “The Risers”, "The Newcomers", "Sleeper Prospects" and some of the top uncommitted prospects.

Since our last update to the rankings in April, we've added over 100 prospects to the list.

The Top 10 stayed unchanged for the most part, with just some shuffling around within the top 10. The four-headed monster at the top of the rankings all had standout summers with the top three, Mack Anglin Joey Velazquez and Jack Frank all making East Coast Pro while Jonathan Machamer ran it up to 91 mph in a start this July.

Mack Anglin RHP / Sparta Highland, OH / 2019

Report: The Clemson commit and top overall prospect in the 2019 class has shown flashes of electricity, and with his 6-foot-5 frame his physical projection is through the roof. The Sparta Highland ace may have the highest upside in the class. Fastball sits 89-93, touching 94 mph. To compliment the fastball, Anglin mixes in a 76-80 mph slider and 81-84 mph changeup.
