Fee Ready To Compete For Purdue Fort Wayne

Faith in his ability proved accurate with a recent commitment to Purdue Fort Wayne.

“God has a plan for me and I knew everything would work out,” explained the New Albany High School 2020. “I just tried to get better and better and if I did that I knew good things would happen. Luckily they did.”

Defiance High School head baseball coach Tom Held helped the 86th-rated senior in Ohio connect with first-year PFW mentor Doug Schreiber and the rest is history.

“I sent coach Schreiber videos three weeks ago and coach Schreiber contacted me,” Fee reflected. “I was in Fort Wayne at the time and went and watched a practice. He called again and I went on a visit. I loved everything about it.

“Coach Schreiber has been around baseball for a long time. Coach (Gordan) Cardenas (an assistant helping with pitchers) showed me what the pitching staff was about and how they can develop me. They’re confident in where the team is going and how coach Schreiber can take the program to a brand new level and I want to be a part of that.”

At 6-4 and 205 pounds, Fee is certainly projectable when it comes to college baseball.

“They like my pitchability and my size,” Fee said of PFW. “They like how I move on the mound and look athletic. They also think I can improve.”

That is something the New Albany senior has been working on.

“A lot of it has been lifting, lifting, lifting,” Fee said of his recent improvement. “I went to aTexas Baseball Ranch in the fall (under the direction of Tom Wolford) and it really improved me getting my lower body involved and not opening my shoulder as much. I’ve turned into a different pitcher. I’m more accurate, I throw harder and I’m not getting tired as quickly.”
