With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Madison Comprehensive Rams

Team Name: Madison Comprehensive Rams
Head Coach: Doug Rickert
Division: II
2015 Record: 18-13
Conference Record: Ohio Cardinal Conference, 1st
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/2

2016 Team Strengths: We return Zane Harris who led us in home runs and RBI last year. We also return Cal Rickert who as a freshman was second on the team in home runs and RBI. Curtis French, a senior who batted over .400, is also back. We return our number one starter in Michael Penney who struck out 11 in 9 innings in the District Final versus Findlay. We should be solid pitching and defensively. We will start two sophomores up the middle, Jaycob Stone and Cal Rickert.

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Pitching Depth

Coach Outlook: "The schedule is tough including Perrysburg, Anthony Wayne, Mentor, Mt.Vernon, Massillon, and four teams from Tennessee. We lost some really good seniors, three of which were four year letter winners. We get back Senior Zane Harris (Wright State) and RHP Michael Penney, and sophomore second baseman Cal Rickert. We hope to win our third conference championship and return to the regional tournament. We were D1 last year and are D2 this year."

PBR Outlook: The Rams look to prepare themselves for their bigger goals at the end of the year by challenging themselves during the regular season with a difficult schedule. Look for the Rams to make noise come tournament time in D-II.
