December 20, 2020
Prep Baseball Report (NY/PA) is excited to bring weekly "Recruiting Board" spotlights showing in state success for programs around New York and Pennsylvania. Postings will highlight current program commits, as well as PBR NY/PA Alumni who are expected to be impact players in the 2021 season.
Canisius College (Buffalo, NY)
2021 In-State Commits
Jackson Strong OF / LHP / West Seneca East , NY / 2021Rankings StateRank: 49 / POS: 6
Athletic 6-foot-1 Left handed hitting and throwing OF. Based off of his athleticism, Strong is expected to improve on his already impressive 6.84 60-yard dash and utilize a gap to gap approach. His feel for his hands and ability to match the plane of the pitch make him a threat at the plate.
|
Trenton Rumley SS / 2B / St Mary's, NY / 2021Rankings StateRank: 71 / POS: 9
At 5-foot-7 the gritty and competitive MIF moves well laterally and works aggressively towards the baseball in the field. At the plate he generates force using a leg lift and a strong load which creates barrel whip. Exit Velo of 94mph as of June 2019, expect to see big jumps in future.
|
Peyton Consigli RHP / OF / St. Francis Prep, NY / 2021Rankings StateRank: 159 / POS: 54
6-foot-4 RHP with high project-ability. Current FB sits 82-84 with expected increases as he develops through program. Relaxed and composed body language on the mound. 4 pitch mix including a CB and SL. Created torque through solid lower half drive towards home plate.

2021 Out of State Commits
Aaron Duffy RHP / SS / Assumption , ON / 2021Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 9
Advanced upper 80's RHP. Coming in at 6-foot-3 Duffy has the makings of a top end arm. Athletic delivery with consistent tempo. Solid three pitch mix. Projects as a starting pitcher. Will join brother Matt Duffy who is currently a freshman at Canisius.
|
Cole Sebastian OF / 2B / Otto-Eldred, PA / 2021Rankings StateRank: 92 / POS: 19
Athletic, 6-foot, 160-pound, good running outfielder. Sebastian clocked a 6.5 seconds 60 time at the 2020 PA State Games, then followed it up with an impressive round of batting practice in which he showed some pull side pop. Shows comfort in the box, utilizes an early gather, loads into a launch position, then enters into the hitting zone early with a flat to slightly up barrel path. Maintains balance well throughout the swing.
|
Tyler Hoover LHP / 1B / Penn Trafford, PA / 2021The 6-foot-5, 200-pound LHP projects to be a legitimate Division 1 arm. The slender frame leaves room to gain on the 81mph FB which already has good arm side run. Move towards the plate is repeatable and low effort. Hand comes straight back into a high 3/4 arm slot.
|
Tyler Greenleaf RHP / 3B / Canon-McMillan, PA / 2021Rankings StateRank: 101 / POS: 35
Greenleaf measures in at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds. The RHP has been seen up to 87mph on his FB from a high 3/4 slot. Slow, controlled move towards home plate with quick twitch actions as the arm begins to work forward.
|
Impact PBR Alumni
Jake Burlingame OF / RHP / Horseheads, NY / 2016Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 1
Burlingame is expected to continue on a path of success in 2021. The fifth year outfielder will be a mainstay at the top of the batting order and a regular in CF. Offensively, Burlingame has the ability to drive the baseball to all fields and was 8-8 on stolen bases in the shortened 2020 season. Plus speed, arm strength, and high baseball IQ are only a few assets that make JB a player to watch.
|
Joseph Barberio C / 2B / Saint Mary's, NY / 2017Rankings StateRank: 64 / POS: 6
Former NCCC two-way. Since coming to Canisius has worked strictly on the mound and has seen tremendous growth. Efficient move towards the plate accompanied with clean arm action make up for an undersized frame. Barberio has been seen running FB into the low 90's and has high pitch-ability. Is expected to play a significant role on the mound in 2021.
|
Dylan Vincent OF / RHP / Olean , NY / 2018Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 4
Rare combination of speed and power that made him a mainstay in the lineup during the shortened 2020 season. Offensively, the LHH Vincent has seen success driving the baseball to the left side and has developed the ability to turn on the FB in. A high On-Plane % makes him a tough out. Defensively, Vincent is expected to make starts at a corner OF spot, having the arm strength to thrive in RF.
