On Deck Preview: Future Games Outfielders

The countdown is on for Team New York's top 2020 and 2021 graduates. Today we will highlight our outfielders who will be letting it fly next week in Indiana.

Outfielders

Anthony DeFabbia OF / LHP / Iona Prep, NY / 2020

Rankings  StateRank: 22 / POS: 6
Defabbia is a returner from the 2017 Future Games where he had a solid outing on the mound on Day 3 showing an above average change up. This year he's worked in a slider and has shown an uptick in velocity. Looking forward to having him on both sides of the ball once again next week. At the plate he hits from the right side and has shown a through the middle approach with a repeatable effort. 

Christian Perez OF / The Harvey School , NY / 2020

Rankings  StateRank: 14 / POS: 4
Reclassified from a 2019 to a 2020 will allow for his physical frame to continue to develop; consistent sub 7.0 runner. Easily tracks the ball down in the gaps; arm holds it's carry with a peak of 88 MPH in the past. Balance at the plate from start to finish with a line drive approach. 

Brenden Harris OF / Guilderland , NY / 2020

Most likely the most aggressive bat in the NY lineup; doesn't get cheated with some acceleration through the zone with an elevated one-hand finish. Consistent, loud contact with some punch to his pull side. Corner outfield profile.  

 

Patrick Walters OF / Shaker , NY / 2020

Athletic 6-foot-2 175 pound frame with a bit of an inside-out approach; has worked out for us in the past at 3B and shown a suitable left side arm. Serviceable 7.10 runner who will be better suited at a corner spot.

Jovani Wiggs OF / Shaker , NY / 2021

Rankings  StateRank: 7 / POS: 1
Prime time athlete at 6-foot-0 180 pounds; recently ran a 6.72 60; bat explodes through the zone with future power potential. Accurate arm; CF/LF projection with some high end offensive abilities.
