On Deck Preview: Future Games Corner Infielders

The countdown is on for Team New York's top 2020 and 2021 graduates. Today we will highlight our middle infielders who will be ranging up the middle and turning two out in Indiana.

First Base

Max Luke 1B / RHP / Croton Harmon, NY / 2020

Rankings  StateRank: 13 / POS: 1

Luke, a veteran of the Prep Baseball Report scene; possesses some juice to his pull side and can feel out the opposite field gap as well. Handles himself around the bag well with an arm that will help start the front end of the double play. Luke will also see time on the mound. The 6-foot-3 RHP usually operates in the 82-84 MPH range but can touch a few notches higher. 

Gavin Noriega 1B / OF / Salesian, NY / 2020

May be undersized as a traditional first baseman but the bat overachieves and he has demonstrated athletic actions around the bag, making plays on the move. Natural born hitter who has shown the ability to drive the ball from line-to-line. Has shown some arm strength that could work in the outfield as the bat will find a home.

 
Third Base

Owen Parliament RHP / 3B / LaFargeville , NY / 2020

Parliament was also a member of the 2017 squad that made it's way out to Indiana. The last year has shown him making strides both at the hot corner and on the mound. At the plate their is more consistency swing-to-swing and his actions at third have began to solidify. On the mound he's been in the 85 MPH range with feel for his CB but the PBR-NY staff has a feeling that this might be his coming out party. Projectable frame that is still growing at 6-foot-1 190 pounds. 

Max Viera INF / Millbrook School, NY / 2020

Rankings  StateRank: 46 / POS: 11

Primarily a MIF, Viera will move around the diamond and see time at the hot corner. Easy defensive actions with plenty of arm strength available but also can get rid of the ball in a hurry and make the play on the move. The switch-hitter shows a flat, line drive swing path from the left side with more power and rhythm from the right side. Looking forward to seeing him get after it in game play.
