The New York 2019 rankings are constantly being updated and expanded quietly the more we see player's through our scouted events. An overall updated rankings will be released soon for the 2019 class. But today we take an inside look at some of the notable risers and newcomers in the 2019 class. Full list of the 2019 NY rankings.

The top six in the 2019 class are hard to argue with all being committed to major D1 baseball conferences (ACC, BIG10, BIG12). Although some interchanging is still likely to happen, we think one player has a real chance to crack the top 10 (if not the top 6) this upcoming spring. No. 11 (up six spots) LHP Cregg Scherrer (Skaneateles HS). 5-foot-11, 160-pound, athletic build with long limbs and plenty of room for continued physical development. Fastball is currently sitting in the mid-80's from a clean athletic arm, commands the zone with natural arm-side tail, works downhill, fastball has angle. Shows the ability to really spin a breaking ball, low-70's with depth, consistent strikes. Shows a relaxed demeanor on the mound, advanced composure, his clean arm points to more velocity jumps in the near future.

OF Myles Proctor entered our rankings in the Spring last year, settling in at No. 44 after seeing the Kennedy Catholic outfielders athleticism in action. Fast forward to now, Proctor continues to rise up our board now sitting at No. 25 and in perfect position to push the top 15 by summer. His frame sits sturdy at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds, highly athletic. Shows above average instincts on the bases, and roams the outfield with confidence and ease. At the plate, much the same. Athletic in the box, sneaky power to both gaps. At times the contact is loud. Proctor is a premium athlete whose ceiling continues to vault.

Other notable players rising in the 2019 rankings are; RHP Ian Evans (Wilson HS) No. 17 now but that could change this February through Summer. Buffalo area raw arm that has shown the ability to crank the velocity up already. No. 24 RHP Robert Milopsky (Rocky Point HS) has a chance to break into the top 15 this summer. Up to 87 with the fastball last summer with natural sink, pitches to contact. Player we like a lot.

Couple upstate catchers have really impressed us over the past year. No. 33 Tyler Holmes (Fairport HS) and No. 42 Colin Williams (East Syracuse Minoa HS). Holmes is built sturdy with a sub 2.0 pop-time and plus pullside power at the plate. Williams is built a little leaner, runs slightly better, also a sub 2.0 pop-time and shows a fluid repeatable swing in the box, easy bat-speed.

Newcomer

A recent newcomer to the 2019 rankings is OF Elijah Diaz (All Hallows). From unranked to No. 50 in the 2019 class in NY, Diaz brings high energy from his 5-foot-8, 165-pound strong, athletic build. There's some juice to his swing from the left-side, aggressive through contact creating recoil on the finish, has control of the barrel using all-fields and currently hovers around the 7.0 flat 60-yard time. In the OF he utilizes his athleticism and above average arm (84 mph w/carry) to keep runners in check. Does Diaz have another gear? This spring / summer we all will find out.
