Brett Harrison
West Coast Supervisor

The Class of 2025 now enters their senior year the Fall season now in full swing with commitments continuing to roll in, now up to 21 commitments, and now we take a look back at the progress made over the Summer with the the Summer Rankings Update. We will see plenty more talented players make commitments within the coming months, and be on the lookout for top uncommitted prospects at each position to be released later in the week.

Also - the 2024 MLB Draft has come and gone, and professional scouts have begun to shift their focus to the next crop of draft prospects. By all early indications, Nevada will have a quality crop of prep draft prospects in the 2025 class, arguably the deepest prep class Nevada has had in the past few seasons.

You can find the full list of the prospects, HERE... Read along to learn about Silver State natives that have pushed themselves onto early draft boards, along with a group of risers that saw their stock rise significantly after a big summer on the circuit.

Class of 2025 - top 10

Tate Southisene SS / 2B / Basic Academy of Int'l Studies HS, NV / 2025

Prep Baseball, VP of Scouting - Shooter Hunt - "No longer in the shadow of his older brother, Ty (2024; Cubs, fourth round), the USC recruit has shown off the loudest tools in a family that has made quite the impact on the amateur baseball scene with talent all over. The biggest of the bunch at 6-foot, 170-pounds, he gets the most out of a wiry-athletic frame, and the bat speed has consistently provided some of the highest exit velocities in the class with triple-digit readings on many, if not most, occasions. Twitchy with the hands with the ability to cover the plate, the hit-tool and swing decisions have shined against premium arms, and there is a chance that the buzz generated from the West Coast ProCase right through the rest of the summer never slows down as the calendar approaches next July."

Ethan Clauss SS / 3B / Palo Verde HS, NV / 2025

Clauss has steadily proven himself as one of the top overall prospects in the 2025 Class, Ranking at #59 in the Prep Baseball National Rankings. Coming off a massive 2023 Summer that earned him an invite to the 2023 All-American Game. He continued that hot streak from the Summer into the High School season where he helped lead Palo Verde to a State Champion. The 2024 ProCase Standout has shown to have one of the top approaches and feel for the zone in the Class with his power now starting to shine through, especially to the pull side. With the trajectory he has been on, consistently elevating his game, this will be a prospect we have high expectations for with the 2025 MLB Draft next July.

Brady Dallimore C / OF / Palo Verde , NV / 2025

What was expected to be a massive 2024 for the TCU commit was unforutnalty cut short after an injury in the High School season shut him down until the Fall. But, the incredibly hot start and present tools that he possesses still keeps him locked into the Top 3 in Nevada's 2025 Class with his game expected to come out of the gates on fire as he gets back on the field this Fall/Winter in preparation for his senior campaign. Dallimore is known for his blue collar style of play and we expect the 2025 Draft whispers to start back up shortly after he's back to full strength in the coming months with his physical, 6-foot-4+ frame already showing to be "pro ready".

Alexander Mercurius RHP / OF / Durango High School, NV / 2025

The recent Oklahoma commit has been, arguably, the highest riser in Nevada's 2025 Class this Summer has been Alexander Mercurius. Fresh off of leading Durango to the Class 4A State Championship, he toed the rubber at Pepperdine for Prep Baseball ProCase - West where he impressed with a more polished mix that saw his fastball run up to 94.7 mph with life, standing tall against a stacked Team California lineup, striking out two over his inning of work. Keep an eye on Mercurius as we expect his velocity to continue to trend with the 2025 MLB Draft interest expected to mirror that trend.

James Whitaker RHP / OF / BISHOP GORMAN HIGH SCHOOL, NV / 2025

Whitaker comes off his breakout spring on the  mound for the Gaels with a progressing fastball that has shown present life and a changeup that he shows advanced feel for as his go to secondary pitch. The LSU commits is expected to be a significant piece of the Bishop Gorman lineup this Spring and with his fastball velocity continuing to tick up, he could be another Nevada prospect that draws serious MLB Draft interest, following in his brother, Tyler Whitaker's, footstep.

Tanner Johns 1B / LHP / Palo Verde, NV / 2025

After a massive Spring that helped lead Palo Verde to a State Title, Johns has further solidified himself as one of the top overall prospects in Nevada's 2025 Class. The present Bat Speed at the plate (Blast Peak Bat Speed - 84.2), made Johns one of the biggest offensive threats in the state with feel to drive the ball all over the yard and premium pull side power. The Oregon commit's power is only expected to continue trending as he had added obvious size and strength to his frame that we expect to translate well at the plate.  Keep an eye on Johns as a "Way Too Early" Player of the Year candidate.

Bryden Bull OF / 1B / Las Vegas HS, NV / 2025

The Ole Miss recruit comes off a huge Spring season at the plate and continued to prove why with arguable the top overall performance at the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games earlier this Summer. Bull produced the events Top TrackMan Exit Velocity - 104.7 mph, then followed it up with the lone home run of the day during the Live Game Play (with wood). His more compact, efficient swing has proven itself already and has one of Nevada's top overall bats primed for another big Fall. This will be one to keep a close eye on this Spring with possible Draft interests projecting to be possible Draft reality.

Nolan Eberwein OF / RHP / Bishop Gorman, NV / 2025

The future Trojan continues to prove why he has one of the highest ceilings in Nevada's 2025 Class. The 6-foot-4, 185 pound outfielder has the present strength, especially in his lower half, to produce some serious power at the plate and he still seems to be just scratching the surface of what's to come. His 98.7 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity showed the easy present power he possesses to go along with the event's top Vizual Edge Edge Score at 87.54. Finally back to 100% after working back off an preseason injury earlier this year, Eberwein is a one of our favorite candidates to have a massive Fall/Winter into his senior Spring.

Mack Edwards 1B / LHP / Reno, NV / 2025

The 2023 Future Games standout and Reno two-way had a huge Spring for the Huskies that helped lead them to a run to the 2024 State Title Game. Edwards, a UCLA commit, carried that momentum into the Summer where he helped lead the Reno Knights to the 2024 American Legion State Title. Keep an eye on Edwards as he continues to see his game trend and we project a massive senior campaign from the future Bruin.

Asa Briggs RHP / 1B / Southeast Career Tech, NV / 2025

They recent San Diego State commit is another 2025 that has made a massive jump over the past 12 months, now standing at 6-foot-5 with his fastball velocity mirroring his physical growth. Up to a Prep Baseball Verified 90.6 this Spring, he sat 88-89.9 mph at the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games, later touching 91 mph with Wow Factor National at LakePoint with present life on his fastball along with a more polished curveball that tunneled much better off of his fastball. This is another arm that we expect to start drawing some MLB Draft interest with the frame and upside all present with his game now just scratching the surface of what is to come.
