Your #1 source for high school baseball coverage is back to work, as PBR Nevada staff continues its "boots on the ground" efforts to bring you the most credible and up to date information on the spring season. PBR Nevada will be covering multiple games a week, bringing to you: game recaps, player spotlights, and updated power rankings.

As we cover the season, we appreciate any and all stats/video recorded, and may be shared to [email protected] to expand our avenues of information consumed. Our ultimate goal is to bring as much exposure to Nevada players and teams possible, any info will be appreciated.

GAME RECAP

CENTENNIAL (3) - FAITH LUTHERAN (1)

The Top 10 match up featured a senior reliant Centennial group against an underclassmen rich Faith Lutheran squad. The Bulldogs opened up the scoring in the bottom of the second as 2022 catcher and CSN signee, Logan Cockrill, singles back up the middle to get the inning started, eventually scoring on a sac fly to open up the score at 1-0. In the top of the third, the top of the Crusaders lineup answered back with a trio of singles from Uncommitted 2022 infielder, Caden Richards, then by 2023 OF/LHP and San Diego State Commit, Zane Kelly, and then by the Top Uncommitted Bat in the 2023 Class, Brandon Swanson, whose single brought in Richards to tie it up at 1-1. Centennial answered back immediately as the catalyst at the top of their lineup, 2023 outfielder, Alex Rhynes, singles to centerfield to get the bottom half of the inning started. 2022 1B/RHP and Cochise Recruit, Jordan Boman, then hammers a fastball off the centerfield wall that looked like it had a chance to leave the yard, but settled for a double that brought Rhynes in all the way from first and was followed up by another Cockrill single that brought in Boman to put them up 3-1 after 3 complete. Both offenses were quiet for the remainder of the game with Faith Lutheran’s Uncommitted 2023 LHP, Spencer Hatch, and Centennial Uncommitted 2023 RHP, Logan Smith, both showing their quality stuff while Smith settled in well after getting his two run lead, ultimately throwing an 84 pitch complete game, striking out 3 in the process and earning Player of the Games honors.
