Your #1 source for high school baseball coverage is back to work, as PBR Nevada staff continues its "boots on the ground" efforts to bring you the most credible and up to date information on the spring season. PBR Nevada will be covering multiple games a week, bringing to you: game recaps, player spotlights, and updated power rankings. 

As we cover the season, we appreciate any and all stats/video recorded, and may be shared to [email protected] to expand our avenues of information consumed. Our ultimate goal is to bring as much exposure to Nevada players and teams possible, any info will be appreciated.

GAME RECAP

PALO VERDE (7) - DESERT OASIS (3)

The Top 10 matchup was set with the #5 ranked Diamondbacks of Desert Oasis at the #8 ranked Palo Verde Panthers. DO's 2022 IF/OF, Elijah Hilliard, took no time at all to get the game started with the a leadoff homerun to left field, putting the D-Backs up 1-0 in the top of the 1st. The Panthers answered back by putting ups a five spot in the bottom of the 3rd with Uncommitted IF/RHP, Jason Schaaf, shooting an RBI single to right field, then with the bases loaded shortly after, Uncommitted 2022 1B/C, Tyler Johnson, turned around a fastball to left-centerfield to bring in all three runs and extend the Palo Verde lead. In the top of the 4th, Desert Oasis puts up a two spot in the top of the 4th to cut into the deficit, but were taken right back in the bottom of the 4th when Palo added two more of their own to open the lead back up to 7-3. In the 5th, 2023 IF/RHP and Pacific Commit, Kody Bialas, took the mound to throw two scoreless innings, sitting 85-86 mph with a tight 12/6 curveball that he used regularly when ahead in the count. In the 7th, Palo Verde senior, Jason Schaaf, came into close it out, striking out the side and sealing the victory for the Panthers.
