Scouting Report
Mackara is a 6-foot-2, 250 pound first baseman with an XL build. Defensively, he moves well around the bag, particularly for a player his size and shows the ability to have a good approach on a ground ball, as well as the ability to pick balls thrown in the dirt. He had good arm action and a 78 mile-per-hour arm across the diamond. His true value lies in the offensive end of the game. He hits with a slightly open stance and a small leg kick which triggers his powerful swing. He is smooth into his load and displayed bat speed and premium leverage. The ball flies off of the barrel. He has good extension and quite a bit of pull side pop. He is aggressive with the stick and takes hard hacks.
