Scouting Report
Hojnacki is a 6-foot-3, 228 pound first baseman with broad shoulders and room to fill out. Hojnacki plays with an excellent Tri-State Arsenal program and he’s had some great progressions leading up to this event. At the event, Hojnacki opened eyes offensively. Hitting from a slightly open, athletic stance, he uses a small leg kick to get back to even. If he doesn’t drop his hands, the big first baseman drives the baseball, particularly to the pull side gap, with power. He has clear bat speed and great extension.
Defensively, he displayed solid arm strength (82 MPH) across the diamond and moved well for his size around the bag. He showed the ability to pick it and shows great anticipation. He displayed a good approach towards fielding a ground ball and makes for a legitimate first base prospect.
