PBR: Why did you choose Morningside?
I chose Morningside because it felt like the perfect fit for me. I wanted to go somewhere competitive and be a part of a program headed in the right direction as well as a place where I would receive a great education. Morningside is also close enough to home so I am able to come home and see family, which is always a plus.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
I was also considering Sioux Falls and Buena Vista.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
Coach Drent first saw me in my recruiting video last summer, then he invited me up to workout with the team. He wanted to see where I was at compared to guys I would be playing with in the coming years, it really showed me the competitive atmosphere that they have and I fell in love with the school.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
Absolutely, it's nice to know that I have it all figured out and can just relax and play hard, not worrying about who is watching and running short on time.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
There was not one deciding factor. All factors put together made the decision easy for me.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
Definitely my Dad, he has always been there for me and has taught me everything I know about the game. He always pushes me to get better and reminds me there is always something to improve. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for him and I cant thank him enough for everything.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
I didn't have an expectation, but I think the whole process is difficult overall. You have to be really patient and make sure you sell yourself, by going to camps and sending out video.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
Coach Drent made it clear that I write my own Freshman season on how I preform on field, practices are competitive and can really help me get where I want to be, and I will do what it takes.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
I would say my pitching outing against rival Millard South in the Semi-Final of the State Tournament last year. It was great to pick up the win and knock out a great team.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
Millard West's Peyton Barnes. The kid can flat out play.

PBR: Going into your senior season, what are you expectation for your team?
I expect my team to go out and compete at the highest level everyday, we have a great group of guys that love to play and I'm looking forward to it.
