Woodhouse Storm vs. KB Building Services 

  • Uncommitted ‘21, Trevor Winterstein (OF, Elkhorn South) led the way offensively with three hits from the leadoff spot. Left handed hitter with solid barrel control. He’s got a compact 5-foot-10,160 pound frame with some wiry strength. Above average runner with easy actions, he tracks balls well. Winterstein looks to have the athleticism to stay in center field at the next level. 

  • KB Building services sent a pair of committed 2020s to the mound with Iowa Western signee Trevor Barajas and Midland signee Logan Godfrey.  Barajas, known more for being a position player, was solid through 5 innings of work. Worked mostly off a 81-84 mph (85T) and 10/6 shaped breaking ball. Godfrey sat 83-84 from a H3/4 slot. He possesses a  quick arm and sharp 11/5 shaped breaking ball. 

  • Nebraska-Omaha signee Harrison Kreiling (C/RHP, 2020)  had a big hit for KB with a 2 RBI double. 

  • First time seeing ‘22, Dalton Bargo (C,Omaha Westside) live behind the plate and he handles it well. He’s a quiet receiver with an above average arm. Bargo will be a good follow in the 2022 class as he continues to develop physically. 


Pinnacle Bank vs. Papio South 

  • Southeast CC signee Cole Whitehill (OF/LHP, 2020), Wayne State signee Nick Barnett (OF/2020) and DMACC signee Nick Ripa (INF, 2020) lead the way offensively for Pinnacle Bank with a pair of hits each. Barnett and Whitehill each added an RBI. 

  • Pinnacle Banks staff of Patrick Zeller, Eli Feekin, Lane Harris and Logan Anderson combined for the shutout. Harris, a Hastings College signee was up to 86 mph with his fastball and mixed in a 70-72 mph change up with slight downward action. Command was a bit sporadic around the zone but worked around a pair of walks to hang a zero on the scoreboard. 

  • Papio South sent out 7 different arms to the mound. The best overall stuff came from a pair of uncommitted ‘21 with Jack Bland and Brayden Curtis. Bland has an average build and the ball comes out from a H3/4 slot, fastball gets on a slight downhill plane with straight action. Curtis topped at 85 with some life to his arm side, sat mostly 83-84. Mixed in a few 10/6 shaped breaking balls with avg. depth. Both guys have repeatable fairly clean actions on the mound.


Carpet Land (Lincoln East) vs. DC Electric (Bellevue West) 

  •  Uncommitted ‘21, Brady Bell (RHP/ULT, Lincoln East) shut the door on the mound with 1.2 inning save with 3Ks. He was up to 89 mph with his fastball and showed strong feel for the zone with his 70-73 mph breaking ball that has 10/6 shape. Bell has a good chunk of experience across the field and has shined in a late inning shutdown role this summer. 

  • Uncommitted ‘21, Jaxson Jelkin (RHP, Bellevue West) made the start for DC Electric. After a rocky first inning, Jelkin settled in and kept DC Electric in the game. Jelkin has a 6-foot-4, 160 pound frame and a whippy ¾ arm action. His crossfire delivery allows the 79-83 mph fastball to play up. He's got a three pitch mix has huge potential with a sweeping slider and heavy change up. Jelkin has a chance to be a big time “guy” if he can clean some things up and be more consistent.

  • Quite night offensively on both sides. Cam Madesen (‘21/OF) and Carson Wright ('21, ULT) each added a pair of hits while Josh Senstock (‘21/C) had the big hit in the 6th inning to grow the Carpet Land lead to two.
