Commitment Tracker: March 1 – 21, 2019
Over the past few weeks the staff at PBR has been busy on the road seeing as many high school games as possible, taking notes on players, and reporting back to college coaches and pro scouts as there are inquiries. The commitment process can be slowed a little at this time, as coaches at the D1 level are just now allowed back on the road, and all college programs are in full swing with their own schedules.
Since the beginning of March, North Carolina has seen 14 players from the 2019, 2020, and 2021 classes commit to the school of their choice. Pitt Community College was the busiest, racking up four players to add to their incoming class. There is still some activity from D1 schools with the 2019s as well, while the younger players will begin to see more and more activity from top tier schools.
Today we take an in-depth look at several players to have made their commitment. We also spend some time on a group of players that saw their recruiting process re-open last week when Winston-Salem State’s administration decided to drop the sport of baseball after the 2019 season. There are 11 players in the PBR database, in the 2019 class, that were committed to WSSU that are back on the market.
Commitment Notes
+ Jackson Kirkpatrick (RHP, McMichael HS, 2020) made waves with his size and feel as a member of Team Carolina at the PBR Future Games. Up to 86 from a 6-foot-6 frame, there is a lot to like now and a lot to project into the future. Kirkpatrick had several suitors since leaving Indianapolis in August and made his decision to attend Western Carolina.
