It’s been a while since the last update to the Class of 2019 rankings. As we have worked our way through the fall schedule, and now begin our approach into the winter months, and ultimately to the 2019 spring season, more light has been shed on this talented and deep class. There has been significant shakeup throughout the list with some significant risers, and additions to the list, which has expanded to 170 players.

Showcasing the depth of the class, over 100 prospects from the state have already made their verbal pledges, including 25 division 1 commitments while 10 of those being to SEC schools.

The top of the list remains largely intact with OF Jerrion Ealy (Jackson Prep HS, MS) a Mississippi recruit and C/RHP Logan Tanner (George County HS, MS) a Mississippi State recruit, checking-in at Nos. 1 and 2 respectively.

Mississippi recruit, and 2017 MS All-State Game Participant, RHP Mitch Murrell (Ocean Springs HS, MS) rises to No. 9 in the updated list after a successful summer. The projectable 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-hander is an imposing presence on the mound where he features a powerful fastball that has run up to 92 mph from a high ¾ slot. Featuring a quick arm, Murrell’s velocity shows no signs of slowing down.

As our scouting staff begins the process of dusting off and updating the Mississippi rankings, be sure to check-in regularly in the weeks and months to come, as there will plenty of updates and content to keep you busy.
