MS Top Prospect Games: Stats Breakdown

The Mississippi Top Prospect Games took place on Tuesday, July 17 at Smith Wills stadium in Jackson, MS. The TPG event featured 70 participants – from around the region - completed the 60-yard dash, positional workouts, live batting practice and pitcher bullpens. Here's a look at the numbers from Tuesday's event.

TOP 60 YARD DASH
There were 14 sub-7 times recorded from attendees. Derrick Hartfield (Perry Central, 2019) clocked the quickest 60 yards of the event with a 6.56. Bryson Ware (Germantown, 2019), River Orsak (Barbers Hill(TX), 2019) DMtrice Booth (Oak Grove, 2020), Peyton Donaldson (West Harrison, 2020) and Beau Bates (Caledonia, 2019) followed suit, separated by slim margins.

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY
A lanky, athletic 6-foot-5 frame, Farmer Abendroth (Warren Central, 2019) topped the fastball leaderboard touching 91 mph. While Landon Gartman (Enterprise, 2019) showed easy velocity running his fastball up to 89 mph with feel to command secondary pitches.

TOP EXIT VELOCITY
25 total 85+ exit velos were posted at Tuesday’s event. Ben Brantley (Hernando, 2019) registered 97 mph to lead the pack. Shane Lewis (Warren Central, 2020) posted a 96 mph exit velo, while Kris Jones (Oak Grove, 2019), Bryson Ware (Germantown, 2019), Caleb Stewart (Starkville, 2019), Caleb Sterling (Warren Central, 2019) and Landon Rascoe (Hattiesburg, 2019) all posted exit velos of 90+.
TOP INFIELD VELOCITY
Landon Rascoe (Hattiesburg, 2019) showed off quality arm strength, posting an event best 90 mph positional velocity from the infield. While Bo Gatlin (Oxford, 2019) and Bryson Ware (Hattiesburg, 2019) appears on their third leaderboard, clocking an 87 and 85 mph positional velocity respectfully.
