St. Louis Gamers Scout Day: Outfielder's Analysis

Prep Baseball Report - Missouri held the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day on February 19 at All-Star Sports in St. Louis, Missouri. Over 60 players attended the event in the 2022 to 2019 classes.
Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.
This group of outfielders included four players from the 2019 class, four players from the 2020 class, one player from the 2021 class, and two players from the 2022 class. Eight players had an exit velocity of 87 mph or better, four players had an outfield velo of 84 mph or better. Here is a look at the outfielders from the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day.
Outfielders
Carson Aycock RHP / OF / East Prairie, MO / 2019Aycock is a strong 6-foot 187-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 4.25 home to first and has a 92 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, minimal load, some hand load, short in line stride, slight natural lift to swing path, hits with leverage, middle to pull side contact flashing power to the pull gap. In the outfield, 84 mph positional velocity, attacks the ball, works though the catch aggressively, quick exchange and high three quarters arm slot, loose arm action. |
Patrick Clohisy OF / LHP / Chaminade , MO / 2020Clohisy is an athletically built 5-foot-10 180-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.37 home to first and has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly open, smooth load with hands separating from in line stride, quick hands and fast bat speed, level though the zone, mostly middle of the field contact, body stays under control. In the outfield, high three quarters arm slot, fluid actions working through the ball, clean exchanges with feet creating momentum to throw, easy and loose arm action, 80 mph positional velocity. |
Joe Dasho OF / RHP / Vianney, MO / 2021Dasho is a strong 6-foot 198-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.65 home to first and has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, some pre-pitch rhythm in hands, hands separate from stride, aggressive swing, doesn’t get cheated, short in line line stride, some lift to swing path, middle to pull side contact with pull side power. In the outfield, three quarters arm slot, clean exchanges, has momentum to throw after the catch, works behind the ball, 84 mph positional velocity. |
Alex Fox RHP / OF / SLUH, MO / 2020Fox is a long and lean 6-foot-1 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.34 home to first and has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with wide stance in base, loads with slight weight shift in lower half and some hand load, minimal stride, picks toe up and sets it down, level path with middle of the field line drives. In the outfield, 79 mph positional velocity, fluid actions with clean exchanges, works behind and through the ball, high three quarters arm slot. |
Joey Funk LHP / OF / Vianney, MO / 2022Funk is a 5-foot-11 145-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.50 home to first and has a 76 mph exit velocity. At the plate, wide set up in base, quick tempo in leg lift, in line stride, hands control the bat, mostly middle to pull side contact during hitting evals, high finish in hands. Grant Huebner OF / C / Edwardsville, IL / 2022Huebner is a 5-foot-8 131-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Illinois’ 2022 class. He ran a 4.28 home to first and has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a open and thin stance, quiet hands with minimal load and little wasted movement, in line stride, hands work inside the ball, gap to gap approach. Marco Mathon OF / Brentwood, MO / 2020Mathon is an athletically built 5-foot-10 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.19 home to first and has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in open stance, controlled leg lift, short in line stride, loose and quick hands, level thought the zone with high finish in hands, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals. Jack Sullivan OF / SLUH, MO / 2019Sullivan is a long and athletic 6-foot-3 185-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class.
