Shon Plack
Missouri Scouting Director
Brayden Jensen (Truman, 2016) is a 6-foot-2 170-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and pitcher. He runs a 7.15 60, has an 84 mph positional velo and 83 mph exit velo. On the mound, Jensen is impressive with loose arm action, repeatable three-quarters release, and projectable frame. His fastball has life with late run topping at 84 mph.
Jensen just finished his junior year with the Patriots and is playing for the KC Mets this summer. Here is a look inside the recruitment of Brayden Jensen.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
Jensen: I am looking for a school with high academics. I plan on majoring in business, so a school with a good business program is important to me.
PBR: Recap your junior season for us at Truman. Name some players that played a key role for Truman in 2015.
Jensen: My junior season at Truman was good. We had some big wins and improved from last year, but it’s still not where we expect our baseball program to be at. Nathan Croner, Van Oswald, and I all played a major role in the season. With all three of us giving our team a chance to win on the mound, and Van and I in the middle of our batting order.
PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?
Jensen: Team goals for my senior season include winning our conference and winning our first district championship since 2010. These are all very attainable with the talent we have coming back. Personal goals I want to hit at least .350 or better with 6 or more wins on the mound.
PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?
Jensen: I currently play for the KC Mets. Right now I am not playing fall ball but plan on working on my game a lot to make up for it.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Jensen: I played basketball my first two years of high school but no longer play.
PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?
Jensen: I scored a 24 on my ACT. I also have a 3.8 unweighted GPA and a 4.1 weighted GPA.
