Player Spotlight: 2B/OF Brandon Green (Liberty, 2016)

Brandon Green (Liberty, 2016) is a 6-foot 175-pound right-handed hitting second baseman. At the Top Prospect Games in August, Green ran a 7.45 60 and had an exit velo of 86 mph.  Green had a good round of batting practice, squaring up ball to the middle-to-pull side.  He separates his hands from his stride.  He has loose hands, level path to extension, and power potential, doubling to center field in game action.  During defensive evaluations, Green had an one of the top infield velos at 84 mph.  He has an over-the-top release,  fluid exchange tapping glove, momentum through the catch, fluid footwork,  and made accurate throws.

Green was a big factor in the #10 Blue Jays 28-5 a season ago.  He was an Honorable-Mention All-State Utility player in 2015, leading Liberty to an appearance in the district championship. 

Here's what's going on in the recruiting process for Brandon Green.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Green: A school with good academics, also a good physical therapy program and baseball team.  

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do? Name some players that will play a key role for Liberty in 2016.

Green: My Junior year went really well finishing 28-5 and getting beat in the District Championship.  I batted .367 with a .469 OBP. I had 15 stolen bases and a .959 fielding percentage. Joe Kinder, Justin Vochatzer, Matt Gastner and Craig Straws will play key roles this upcoming season.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Green: Win Districts, and work our way to the State Championship.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Green: I play for the KC Mets, I am not playing fall ball right now I am just going to a bunch of camps.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Green: Yes I also Wrestle

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Green: My ACT is currently a 17, I’m retaking it in October. I maintain a 3.0
