MOKAN Fall Trials: Pitchers Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Missouri/Kansas held the MOKAN Fall Trials on Saturday, September 28 at the Urban Youth Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. Over forty players from region participated.
Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance.
Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on ScoutPlus.

Ace Akers LHP / OF / Nixa, MO / 2020Akers is a lean and athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound, left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Missouri State commit. Akers’ has long limbs, projectable frame with room for growth as he develops and loose arm action. His delivery is repeatable, good direction towards home plate, controlled leg lift, hides the ball behind his body until release, quick arm, high three-quarter release, athletic finish. Fastball is 82-84 mph, arm side run, high percentage of strikes, changeup shows good differential sitting 72-74 mph, fading action, near fastball arm speed, curveball shows sharp downward action, 67-73 mph, 1-to-7 shape. |
Landen Baker SS / RHP / Nemaha Central , KS / 2021Baker is a long and lean 6-foot, 150-pound, right-handed hitting middle infielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. On the mound, Baker has a projectable frame with room to grow as he develops, simple delivery, slight coil at leg lift, gains momentum as he works down the mound, some rhythm to delivery with regular effort, loose arm action, three-quarter release. Fastball is 73-75 mph, late run to arm side, thrown for strikes, curveball is 61-63 mph, 11-to-5 shape, quality pitch when located at the knees, changeup is 63-64 with arm side run. |
Ty Campbell C / RHP / Blue Springs South, MO / 2021Campbell is a slender and projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pound, left-handed hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Campbell shows a lean frame with room to grow, some rhythm with delivery, regular effort, accelerates down the mound, clean arm action, falls towards first base with finish, clean arm action with an over the top release. Fastball sat 77-80 mph, occasional cut action, changeup is 67-70 mph with some fading action, curveball is 61-64 mph, near fastball-arm speed, gradual action, 11-to-5 shape. |
Parker Disidore OF / 2B / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2020Disidore is a 5-foot-8, 155-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, Disidore shows a simple delivery, controlled leg lift, gains momentum down the mound, short arm swing behind body, over the top release, around the strike zone with a three pitch mix. Fastball sits 70-73 mph, slight run to arm side, curveball is 64-66 mph, gradual action, 12-to-6 shape, changeup is 67-69 mph, thrown for strikes at the bottom of the zone. |
Jay Greco RHP / Blue Springs South , MO / 2020Greco is a 6-foot-1, 176-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Greco has a long and lean frame, works from the first base side of the rubber, high leg lift, accelerates down the mound, slight hitch after leg lift, high glove side for added deception, high three-quarter release. Chandler Miller OF / RHP / Basehor-Linwood, KS / 2021Miller is a lean and long limbed 6-foot-2, 165-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. On the mound, Miller shows a repeatable delivery with good direction, some deception, controlled leg lift, long and loose arm action, high three-quarter release. Chancellor Moore RHP / OF / Raytown South , MO / 2020Moore is a long and lean 6-foot-2, 165-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Chancellor has a lean build, projectable frame, long and loose arm action. Delivery has a consistent tempo, repeatable, rushed at times, downhill, directional down the mound, controlled leg lift, long and fluid arm action, three quarter release. Fastball sits 75-78 mph, arm side run, better command of his arm side part of home plate, curveball is 62-66 mph, mostly gradual action, 11-to-5 shape. |
Colin Moszczynski-Rivas RHP / 2B / Grain Valley , MO / 2021Moszczynski-Rivas is a 5-foot-10, 150-pound, right-handed hitting middle infielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Rivas starts in a a relaxed upright posture, controlled leg lift, good direction towards target, works at a slower tempo but gains momentum as he works down the mound, delivery has some deception as he hides the ball behind his body and a strong glove side. Fastball plays at 74-78 mph, arm side run, thrown for strikes, changeup is 68-72 mph, knuckle ball is 58-63 mph. Rivas showed the ability to throw all pitches for a strike during bullpen session. |
Carlton Perkins RHP / OF / Lee's Summit North, MO / 2021Perkins is a 6-foot-2, 170-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Perkins has a projectable frame with room for growth as he develops, some rhythm with his delivery, cross fire with his stride, quick and loose arm action, high three-quarter release, accelerates tempo down the mound. Fastball 78-82 mph, slight arm side run, around the zone, changeup is 74-76 mph, near fastball arm speed, curveball is 65-68, mostly gradual action, 11-to-5 shape. |
Luke Quackenbush 3B / RHP / Kickapoo, MO / 2021Quackenbush is a solid 5-foot-11, 170-pound, right-handed hitting corner infielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Quackenbush shows and athletic build, works primarily from the stretch, slightly closed off at set position, controlled leg lift, gains momentum as he works down the mound and works to an aggressive finish, clean arm action working from a high three-quarter release. Fastball sits 82-84 mph, around the zone, showed feel for a curveball, 65-66 mph, slider showed sharper bite at 71-73 mph, can spin it for strikes at times, splitfinger fastball is 71-73 mph with some fading action. |
Easton Rogers RHP / 3B / Piper, KS / 2024Rogers is a 6-foot, 155-pound, right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2024 class. Rogers has a lean frame, long limbs, easy delivery with smooth actions, works at a slower tempo, raw ability, rushed delivery at times, high glove side for added deception, loose arm action, high three-quarter release. Fastball is 73-75 mph, arm side run, throw for strikes, changeup is 65-69 mph, curveball is 58-60 mph, gradual action, 11-to-5 shape, located mostly to the top of the zone. With Rogers lean frame, slender build and easy arm action, he is a prospect to keep an eye on as he develops. |
Brett Rush 3B / RHP / Lee's Summit West, MO / 2022Rush is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder, corner infielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. On the mound, Rush has a simple delivery, controlled leg lift, open stride, accelerates down the mound towards home plate. Fastball sat 72-75 mph at the event, occasional run and sink, curveball is 66-70 mph, gradual action, 11-to-5 shape, changeup is 54-55 mph. |
River Thompson OF / LHP / Raytown, MO / 2020Thompson is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder and left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. On the mound, Thompson shows a deceptive delivery, hides the ball behind his body, strong glove side, accelerates down the mound, delivery has a quicker tempo, repeats, downhill tilt, over the top release, shows a 4 pitch mix in bullpen sessions. Fastball is thrown for a high percentage of strikes, 73-76 mph, curveball is sharp at times, 64-67 mph, near fastball arm speed, changeup is 64-65 mph, split finger fastball shows downward action, thrown aggressively, 61-65 mph. |
