Kansas Underclass Games: Catcher's Analysis

Prep Baseball Report - Kansas held the Kansas Underclass Games at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas on Tuesday, June 5. Over seventy players attended in the 2020-2021 class.
Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard. Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos. Today will take a closer look at the catcher from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.
This group of catchers included six exit velos of 87 mph or better, three hitters had a 90 mph or better exit velocity. Four catchers had a 2.00 or better pop time, and four had a 75 mph or better positional velocity. Here is a break down of the catchers from the Kansas Underclass Games.

Daniel Bebee C / SS / Shawnee Mission South, KS / 2020Bebee is an athleitc 6-foot-2 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. He ran a 7.32 60, a 4.78 home to first and has an exit velocity of 87 mph. At the plate, consistent hard contact gap to gap during hitting evals, thin set up, slightly open, level and quick bat speed, some hand load, repeats swing, doubled and singled in game action. Behind the plate, pop times between 2.00 and 2.11-seconds, 75 mph positional velocity, wide set up, quick exchange with high three quarters arm slot, accurate throws. |
Mack Clark SS / C / Blue Valley Southwest, KS / 2020Clark is a strong 5-foot-10 175-pound left-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. He ran a 7.40 60, a 4.90 home to first and has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, thin set up, smooth load with short stride, loose and quick hands, feel for the barrell, stays on ball after contact, tripled and singled in game action. Behind the plate, pop times between 1.95 and 2.13, 76 mph positonal velcoity, short over the top arm action, exchange on time with fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws. |
