Kansas Underclass Games: 2020 Pitchers Analysis

Prep Baseball Report - Kansas held the Kansas Underclass Games at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas on Tuesday, June 5. Over seventy players attended in the 2020-2021 class.

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard. Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos. Today will take a closer look at the 2020 pitchers from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

The 2020 pitchers included a total of eighteen pitchers total, one was left handed. Six pitchers has a fastball velo over 80 mph, and two posted velos over 85 mph.

Here is a closer look at the middle infielders from the Kansas Underclass Games.

2020 Pitchers

Brock Berry RHP / OF / St Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2020

Berry is a 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, comes from a high three quarters arm slot, works in line down the mound, smooth tempo, repeats delivery, fastball at 70-72 mph, throws for strike, breaking ball at 63-66 mph, late 12-to-6 shape, throws on fastball plane with near fastball arm speed, mostly down in the zone.

Caden Bressler SS / RHP / Pittsburg, KS / 2020

Bressler is a 5-foot-11 190-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, Bressler comes from a high three quarters arm slot, throws with some effort, some hip rotation at balance point, accelerates in line down the mound, fastball at 81-83 mph, some on a downhill plane, breaking ball at 68-71 mph, gradual 11-to-5 shape, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 74-75 mph, slight arm side run, throws for a strike.

Ryan Callahan SS / RHP / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2020

Callahan is a long limbed 6-foot-3 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, Callahan has a simple and repeatable delivery, strike thrower with two pitches, high three quarters arm slot, smooth tempo throwing with regular effort, fastball at 80-81 mph, slight late run, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, early action, 63-64 mph, lands for a strike, long and lean frame with arm action would suggest increases with continued development.

Clint Chappell RHP / SS / Mill Valley , KS / 2020

Chappell is a 6-foot-5 215-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, smooth and controlled delivery, high three quarters arm slot, aggressive down the mound, hands remain high during leg lift, in line down the mound, works downhill, fastball at mostly 81-83 mph, slight sinking action, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, late and gradual break, 68-69 mph, change up at 71-73 mph, near fastball arm speed, down in the zone.

Michael Daggett RHP / C / Paola, KS / 2020

Daggett is a 5-foot-11 140-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, Daggett has a lean frame with loose high three quarters arm action, repeats simple delivery, throws with some effort, tuck at balance point, fastball at 79-83 mph, occasional cutting action, curveball has late 10-to-4 action, throws with fastball arm speed, throws for a strike.

Parker Disidore OF / RHP / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2020

Disidore is a 5-foot-8 144-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, short over the to arm slot, short arm circle, body is controlled to balance point, throws with some effort at release, works out front and in line, fastball at 66-69 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 shape, gradual downward action, 60-61 mph.

Grant Hall RHP / OF / Olathe Northwest, KS / 2020

Hall is a lean 5-foot-10 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, over the top arm slot, drop and drive type delivery, smooth acceleration down the mound, his ball well, fastball at 68-70 mph, throws breaking ball for a strike, 61-62 mph, gradual 12-to-6 shape.

John Harrick RHP / 1B / Blue Valley Southwest, KS / 2020

Harrick is a 5-foot-11 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, short over the top arm slot, slight coil and tuck at balance point, in line down the mound, keeping shoulders level, throws with regular effort, fastball was mostly at 79-81 mph and mostly down in the zone., breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, 72-75 mph, flashed some sharpness.

Cade Kohlmeier RHP / OF / Emporia , KS / 2020

Kohlmeier is a 6-foot-1 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, Kohlmeier has a high three quarters arm slot, keeps hands high with high leg kick, throws a heavy fastball with slight sink at 77-79 mph, breaking ball has early 11-to-5 action, throws for strike at 65-67 mph.

Lee is a 5-foot-8 145-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, Lee has a short takeaway from glove, over the top release, will drop down to high three quarters on occasions, smooth tempo accelerates in line down the mound, body stays under control, high number of strikes fastball at 76-79 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, works the bottom of the zone, early break, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 69-70 mph, throws for a strike, straight.

Ayden Mertz RHP / 2B / Park hill, MO / 2020

Mertz is a 5-foot-11 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. On the mound, Mertz has an athletic delivery, high three quarters arms slot, quick arm speed, slight tuck at balance point, arm works, some life at the end of fastball with slight running actin, 84-85 mph, breaking ball has 11-to-5 slider-type action, late break, starts on same plane as fastball, swing and miss potential.

Jayce Meyer LHP / OF / Maize South, KS / 2020

Meyer is a long and lean 6-foot-1 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, Meyer has an over the top arm slot, throws with some effort and intent, slight hip rotation at balance point, creates inline direction down the mound, fastball at 75-76 mph, some with cutting action, breaking ball has 2-to-8 shape with late action, lands for a strike, 63-65 mph, change up at 68-70 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed, some deception in quick tempo, hides ball, long limbs with projection in build.

Jacob Misiorowski RHP / OF / Grain Valley , MO / 2020

Misiorwoski is a long and lean 6-foot-5 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class, an Oklahoma State commit. On the mound, comes from a high three quarters arm slot, loose arm action with quick arm speed, hides ball unit release, smooth delivery, throws with regular effort, works in line with level shoulders down the mound, fastball at mostly 86-88 mph, breaking ball at 66-70 mph, sharp and late 11-to-5 action, swing and miss pitch, controllable change up with late sink at 78-79 mph, high ceiling in both arm action and build.

Tysaac Noland C / 2B / Maize South, KS / 2020

Noland is a 5-foot-11 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. On the mound, Noland comes from a short high three quarters arm slot, body stays under control, throws with regular effort and smooth rhythm, fastball at 74-78 mph, slight late sinking action, breaking ball has 11-to-5 action, gradual break, lands for a strike, 67-68 mph, change up at 67-68 mph, some arm side release, throws for a strike.

Perkins is a 5-foot-11 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. On the mound, Perkins has a controlled delivery, slight tuck and rotation at balance point, mixes in a slide step on occasions from stretch, comes from a high three quarters arm slot, conventional delivery with fluid tempo, fastball at 75-79 mph, throws curveball at 67-68 mph, 11-to-5 shape, occasionally late and sharp,.

Clay Saporito RHP / C / Columbus, KS / 2020

Saporito is an athletically built 6-foot-2 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. Saporito has a smooth leg lift, picks up tempo after leg lift, throws with some effort at release, works in line and keeps shoulders flat down the mound, high three quarters arm slot, fastball at 71-74 mph, 11-to-5 breaking ball, gradual and early action, will throw for strikes.

Adam Trauernicht RHP / OF / Mill Valley , KS / 2021

Traermicht is a 5-foot-10 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. Trauernicht comes from an over the top arm slot, long arm circle, throws with some effort, fastball works on a downhill plane, throws with some effort, stride is in line creating good direction towards the plate, falls slightly to first base after release, fastball works 73-75 mph, there primarily fastball in game action, lean frame capable of adding strength as he continues to develop.

Grayson Walden SS / RHP / Columbus , KS / 2020

Walden is a 5-foot-10 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. Walden comes from a high three quarters arm slot, smooth acceleration down the mound, stays in line with level shoulders, throws with regular effort, fastball at 74-76 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 shape, gradual action, threw change up at 63-64 mph, slight sinking action, near fastball arm speed.
