Season Outlook
Trenton finished 8-14 last season, their first season with a baseball program.  They started off hot with a 5-3 record and look to build on the successes of 2017 this spring.  Although the Bulldogs graduated two of their top arms, they return seven starters and have a solid freshman class.   Seniors Avery Cooksey and Colton Colston are a pair of seniors that received All-District honors last spring. Colston led the team offensively last season and played eight different positions defensively, which will make him a big piece of the team in the spring.  Watch for Cooksey, a 6-foot-5 first baseman, to hit in the middle of the order and pressure opposing defenses with his speed.  He also play a role on the mound after his 3-1 record as a junior. The Bulldogs will be solid in the outfield with Hunter Dugan leading off and playing center field, while athletic sophomore Sam Schiiling showing ability to play all three outfield positions.  Senior Jesse Farmer will also play the outfield, but his biggest impact will be on the mound.  And watch for 6-foot-3 left-handed pitcher junior Hunter Beverlin to round out the pitching staff.  After a full year with a baseball program, Trenton is gaining experience and confidence that will lead them in 2018.
