What's New In The Top 10

Uli Fernsler LHP / Novi, MI / 2025

Report: Fernsler remains at the top of the 2025 Rankings as he strung together a strong 2024 campaign in the spring and summer. Emerging on radar for regional professional scouts, Fernsler will look to make an uptick this offseason in his development preparing for an explosive ‘25 spring season.

Blake Ilitch RHP / Brother Rice, MI / 2025

Report: Ilitch had some movement in his recruitment, opening it up earlier this fall, decommitting from Duke, a program he’d been committed to for a period of time. Ilitch will now head into the Southeastern Conference and don the pinstripes for the Rebels of Ole Miss. An area to keep an eye on for Ilitch is the continued development of the breaking ball, which is his best offering off his high spin fastball.

Keagen Kohlhoff RHP / Powers Catholic, MI / 2025

Report: Kohlhoff is now back in the Mitten State after a short stint at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. Formerly committed to the Kentucky Wildcats, he is now committed to the Missouri Tigers. Kohloff, a former Future Games participant, will anchor a Powers pitching staff coming off a State Championship in June.

The Risers

Cayden Nieto C / 1B / Midland, MI / 2025

Report: Reliable backstop for the Chemics which transitioned into plenty of innings for Midland Berryhill Post 165. Has ability to handle a pitching staff catching many of the classes top ranked arms the last 9 months. An intriguing bat with room to develop with solid frame. Poised for a strong senior season in the SVL.

Daniel Crosby 1B / RHP / Western International High School, MI / 2025

Report: Continued to make strong gains this fall across PBR Tournaments and a standout at the Fall Top Prospect Games with some extra base knocks. Mid to upper 80s arm with ability to get outs. Another Cowboy to take note of this coming offseason.

Evan Morrison C / 1B / Macomb Dakota, MI / 2025

Report: Came onto the summer scene in full force with a strong display at TPG Trials at Michigan in June. More to come in the bat, but already profiles the advanced physique of the catching position. Look for Morrison to have a breakout season for the Cougars of Macomb Dakota.

Prospects To Look At In 2025

Sawyer Cooney RHP / SS / Bloomfield Hills, MI / 2025

Report: Cooney is making continued strides the last few months after fully recovering from a small setback. Playing this fall with the Reds Scout team, Sawyer has continued to face a solid level of competition off the summer circuit. Look for Cooney to lock down the #1 spot in rotation for the Blackhawks in Spring 2025.

Kole Waterman 1B / OF / Detroit Edison, MI / 2025

Report: Talented, toolsy prospect from the 313, Waterman had added strength in his core and made gains at the plate. The raw power to the strong side of the field is certainly intriguing for the left-handed hitting Waterman. Waterman will be relied on heavily this coming season for Mark Brown’s club as they look to make another deep run into June.

Tyler Bruggeman OF / Adrian High School, MI / 2025

Report: Bruggeman has made good jumps each time our staff has set eyes on him. We expect Tyler to make another jump this offseason in gains not only athletically but physically to help boost the power numbers. Tyler is also on track to eclipse 100 stolen bases for Adrian this spring. A mainstay at the top of the order, should be a name to keep an eye on in the coming months.

College Coaches Need To Circle Back To

Max Ferrick OF / RHP / Forest Hills Eastern, MI / 2025

Report: Strong sturdy frame, Ferrick is a sure defender with an improving arm that has experience at the top of the order for the Hawks. Look for Ferrick to take another step in his game in all areas as he looks round out a strong senior campaign.

Ryan Pettinger RHP / St. Clair, MI / 2025

Report: A solid piece to the St. Clair pitching staff, Pettinger had a strong showing this fall at the Unsigned Sr. Showcase. The righty features a solid mix with his fastball and slider - flashing a change up. The slider had solid tunneling action with tight spin late. Clean work down slope and strong lower half. A name to catch in 2025.

Joel Mator LHP / Trenton, MI / 2025

Report: Mator made a strong impression last spring for Coach Szalka’s club helping lead them to the FInal Four. A wiry left handed arm who has strung together a positive track record should be on radars for a number of programs in the region. Mator is looking to take on a larger role for the Trojans in 2025.
